Keeping it classy?

Oregon's head coach was apparently upset that mike Leach kept having his team pass the ball and score during the fourth Qtr, even though they were down by 38. USU had a big lead and took some flak for faking a punt.

This article discusses similar "classless" actions by lavell and others. Of course, none as classless as Whitinghams insides kick when up 43-0 against Wyoming.



I'm not sure how we got to this point of watching out for the other teams feelings, but if I'm paying to go to a game, why do I want to see both teams give up after 3 quarters? I don't mind watching young players get time in a blowout game, but I'd rather see them run the regular offense. I don't want teams rubbing it in and/ or trying to embarrass the other team (like with an onside kick), but for heaven sakes, let's play football for the entire 60 mins.



Thoughts?

The article I read indicated it was the Oregon DC whining.



But I agree. Play ball. Sure pull the starters. Play 2nd and 3rd string. But let them play.



And I cannot imagine anyone feeling sorry for the poor Oregon DC no matter how much he pouts and whines. At least his reserves got some real experience and thus will be well prepared to help Oregon deliver a payback stmt in 2014.

You're correct, it was the DC. Either way, waaaaaaahhhhh! (To Oregon, not the Bibster) You won the game. You should be happy your backups got some real practice against the pass.

Oregon whining about anyone, especially a losing opponent, running up the score is hypocritical and laughable.

He looked like such a pathetic loser on tape. But, that's how worried they are about style points and margin of victory, even though that's not supposed to matter as much.



Bronco is the classiest, as evidenced by his taking the foot off the gas pedal AND non prep of 2nd QBs.

Complaining that the team you're destroying keeps trying has got to be one of the most classless thing I've ever seen.



I can see complaining about a team that's beating you by 5 touchdowns continuing to pass the ball and score touchdowns, but when you're up by that much?



What a loser.

I read this and thought "How stupid is this guy?" He wins and his scout team gets real game experience? win win! His team was still throwing the ball in the 4th quarter, there is no difference between getting the back up real game experience, and getting the first team real game experience considering that this is only Leach's second year. his players need to keep playing their game plan to get better. Shut up and win with class,

I am in Oregon ducks fan... When they're not playing the Blue cougars. I was disappointed in the D C's statement. I agree, play to win through the whole game.



Lavell ran up the score, but he let the backups play, and he let them run the real offense.

I can't believe a DC would say that when they've already run up the score. It's so stupid I don't even know what to say.
