Former player Noah Hartsock practiced with the team on Wednesday and will be added to the staff as a student-assistant coach, Rose said. Hartsock has played professionally overseas (Belgium) since leaving BYU after the 2011-12 season, but has decided to pursue a career in coaching

I'm not sure how good he'll be as a coach, but I bet he will be great for our guys to practice against.

Yep... of course they probably won't recognize what a prototypical 4 man looks like (since we don't have one this year)

Maybe he can slip on Sharp's jersey and go out on the court, no one would notice if BYU suddenly had a dominating player again, would they?

Interesting. I probably would have given it a couple more years in the pros - add to my credibility - but welcome back Noah.

He didn't get where he was on athletic ability (although he was/is very athletic); he was a technition of the game. I think he will be a very good coach, and will teach the bigs a lot about dominating inside. Glad to have him back.

He actually did have a contract to play overseas again this year, however, there was something about the situation that he didn't like so he made this move (At least that's what I was told by someone close to the program right after it happened)

His family is all in Provo or Oklahoma... not everyone loves the idea of a paycheck overseas considering the sacrifices you have to make. There is not doubt that he would be very capable for a decade plus over there if he wanted it.



Glad to have him here. Selfishly, it's the best thing that could happen for Worthington and Mika. He's going to eat their lunch in practice with skills only experience can give you. They'll need it.

Jeremiah is in Provo. He used to live in KC (we spent many late nights together watching BYU games). He played at UMKC.



The Chicago Hartsocks are Ben (the tallest) and his wife Lindsy a former all American volleyball player at BYU..... talk about good blood lines...



The youngest girl is actually not tall at all and is at BYU (saw her on the boom shakalaka feed)



The rest I believe are in Oklahoma, except Jakob (mission)...



I don't think this is the last generation of Hartsocks to play at BYU. Funny thing is that some of them were not BYU fans until Noah played at the Y. Now I think the entire family is sold for life.

My intra-mural junkie son posted that he and his buddies got run off the court by Hartsock 2 days ago. Then my brother-in-law recalled getting run off a court he and his friends had reserved by none other than Vai Sikahema and some of his similarly ripped buddies back in the day.
