So here is the RER for the GT game (season RER in parentheses) and other observations.
Williams: 97.47 (85.93)
Hoffman: 237.37 (98.63) - his best game of the year.
Apo: 0.00 (89.76)
Falslev 196.90 (161.14)
Ridley: 163.00 (98.27)
Matthews: 129.80 (167.23)
Thompson: 108.80 (110.67)
Mahina: 171.40 (85.70) - his first catches of the year.
RBs: 73.10 (59.87)
WRs: 190.38 (115.47) - third straight game above the standard.
TEs: 140.10 (89.80)
- Our Blue Zone & 3rd Down passing is still very poor. Versus GT, the PER was 104.60 & 113.00 respectively. For the season we're at 90.80 & 59.60. THIS is a definite area that needs serious attention and improvement.
- Hill is doing great things to start the game throwing the ball. His three most recent first halves, his PER is 162.18 and he's completing 70.2% of his passes. That's making life easier for the second half as well.
- The team with the better PER has now won 27 of the last 29 games (.931).
- Georgia Tech was the first start of Hill's career with 0 turnovers.
- Thru six games, BYU has 33 plays of 20 or more yards. They only 26 such plays through six games last year.
- BYU opponents have 19 20+ yard plays this year. They had just 13 through six games last year.
- Thru six games last year, BYU had just 231 yards on kick off returns. This year they have 489 - and that's NOT counting the three 50+ yard returns that were called back for penalty.
- BYU's sacks allowed are almost identical from last year. This year it's 14 for 90 yards. Last year it was 14 for 92 yards.
- BYU has now reached the PER standard (135) in three straight games. The first time since games 10, 11 & 12 in 2011. BYU has not had a four-game stretch since 2009, when they had a seven-game streak to start the year.
- Hill's 644 yards rushing, would have made him the 2nd leading rusher last year, the leading rusher in 2011, and 2nd leading rusher in 2010.
