Thought it was interesting that Marques Johnson was playing NT with Manumaleuna and Kafusi at DE. Merril T. was playing backup at NT. We have some stout NT and can exert good pressure at DE with Bronson and Ethan. Also interesting that Tyler Beck and S. Hadley are co-listed in ILB with Unga and Jorgensen filling the other inside LB position. That is some serious speed and force to reckon with. KVN and Fua at OLB are very fast as shown by the sacks, rushed passes, and INT pick six. Very formidable front 7. Although BIlls will be back (cleared concussion test), Blake Morgan filled in admirably and the DBs, Safeties are playing well. Overall, the D is very impressive and continues to be a strength on this team - especially considering the depth.

The OL started the same unit for the second time: Yeck, Kafu, Fusi, Kearsley and Wesley. Good size and aggressiveness. Apparently Fusi and Kearsley rotate between center and guard. I like this lineup and not surprisingly with consistency have helped provide TH with time to throw and open holes for RBs. I hope for continued improvement in both the run and pass game.

Now, if the Anae can help the O not get too conservative in their play calling and make adjustments when D changes strategy, we will be able to fire on all cylinders. I was quite surprised that GT D adjustment after halftime really slowed down the O and limited rushing and passing yards.

What's interesting to me is we are now beginning to hear "BYU" and "team speed" used in the same sentence. If you've been around awhile you'll know that has never, never been the case before.

Also saw Hadley out of position at OLB while KVN took a breather.

A lot of the front 7 took breathers during the GTech game as they got dinged up with the cut/chop blocking. Lots of charley horses to work out, but no long-term damage, which is always good coming out of a triple-option game. That has a lot to do with the different looks going on Saturday night.

Yes, and some backups are getting reps.which is great prep. I wish we could get our backup QBs to get some time.

But great To see what's going on with the D.

Another impressive aspect of our D is that our defensive backfield is performing quite well. In 2014, we are stoked at the following positions -

Safety: Craig Bills, D. Leavitt, Chris Badger, M. Wadsworth, Drew Reilly, Kai Nacua

DB: J. Johnson, Trent Trammel, R. Daniel, Sam Lee, M. Davis, J. Preator

Is Kai Nacua going on a mission?? What about R. Daniel being moved back to Safety and M. Davis going back to WR??

We will need Davis at WR with his speed. Maybe even kickoffs or punt return.

Davis could turn into an elite/NFL CB with his speed if we can bring in enough WR's and who knows if JJ will be healthy enough to start the season. Kurtz is a start and adding Pettis or Gross would help as well. Is Weeks back from the mission next year?? Whatever side of the ball Davis plays on I'd like to see him at least start returning punts/kickoffs next year

We could use someone who can stretch the field. Don't know how well he tackles yet.

Don't forget that we have incoming freshmen Tre Dye and Cedric Dale that joing the team next year. Both of those kids are used on KORs and very fast although diminutive compared to Adam Hine 6'1"/202 lbs (who I expect will continue to return kicks given he is only a So.)
