Adam Hine

Hey guys, I was haapy to learn that Adam is OK, but what are the chances he plays against USU?

These days, it seems common practice for a player to miss at least one game after getting knocked out cold like Hine was. I'd be surprised to seem him next week

Chances are slim to zero. Williams, Lasike, Hill, and Brown can run the ball. We'll probably have Falslev, Hague, or a small/less valuable WR/RB with Lasike on kick returns. The coaches won't want to risk one of our better wrs or rbs get hurt on special teams.

Brown: no fumble. Count on seeing him.

Besides, why do we need Hine? HIs kickoff returns get brought back by fool players and fool refs.

Hill: fumbled. Don't count on seeing him?

Does that also mean that Falslev won't play again?

I was extremely disappointed in Falslev last week. The ridiculous announcers kept blaming the fact the kicker was a left footed kicker--PALEEZE! That left footed kicker would run to his left and kick on the run, every ball went to the far left side of the field and Falslev never adjusted. I was also disappointed that Bronco never sent a blitz from our right side to disrupt that running, left footed kicker. We stand pat, make no adjustment and our return guy drops three kicks? I like Falslv but I would sit him for a half so he gets the message. I might also sit Bronco for allowing the situation to occur.



You can bet USU will have some tricks up their sleeve, so I hope BYU has their eyes wide open and their heads screwed on straight. Five fumbles, no TD passes and a 35 percent completion percentage will guarantee a loss in Logan. Every team on our schedule is going to scheme to stop Hill from running, which means the passing lanes should be wide open. This is our 5th game, the season is almost half over, any decent QB should be able to hit his receivers by now.



If I were Anae, I would come out throwing the ball and make USU adjust to that, then get the running game going.

I got a bit of a kick out of Falslev's gaffes last week, seeing how they came the week after he got caught yelling at his QB on the sidelines for the QB's failure to perform on national television. I think JD's sins were a bit more egregious---right before his first fumble, we were discussing how Falslev has the most unorthodox punt fielding approach. Normally the #1 thing you beat into the head of your returner is never try to catch while moving backwards or laterally. Falslev seems to only attempt catches while back-pedaling or coming across the field. Those habits caught up with him this last week.



Luckily the game was never really in doubt, so I was able to laugh at his misfortunes.

I think not having Hine will be a big factor. He has been pretty consistent and returning it for some seriously good field position. that could be a game changer when we play utah state. i doubt we see him which is a bigger hit to our chances in my mind than most seem to think.

You must have missed the game last week, Hill completed 70% of his passes. But, you're right, if we fumble 5 times, and pass 35% we will lose against USU. Last year Hill completed 60+% against USU, so I'm planning to see that Taysom Hill Friday night.

I may have missed this earlier but Hine is officially out this week.

Just curious, but how? And who could do that? Would you need to get Holmoe to tell him to stay in the locker room for a half?



I don't remember when this was (2010 sometime, I don't remember which game), we lined up for a field goal...and went for it. (As I look back, it was at home against SDSU). Matt Marshall completed a pass for 16 yards to get the first down.
