Funny, I was at the fireside the night before the opening game against UVa. Talked to Cody briefly. Didn't have fire in his eyes. Or smoulder. Or anything. Seemed clear that he didn't want to be there. (And KVN was not there, though now it looks like that was probably the night he was dining with Mr & Mrs Jeff Benedict). Afterward I figured Cody's look of feeling out of place was just because he was the non-LDS guy representing at a church function. Then the next day I thought it was because he knew he wouldn't be playing. Now I wonder if it was because of something deeper. Don't know. I'm probably grasping.



Sure hope Ridley starts living up to his billing. And Apo to his hype. And Mitch Mathews to his height.

Ya our WR have been very disappointing this year. Losing Cody would hurt badly.

So - who is this guy and is he for real. Seems odd that BYU would let a suspension decision leak out before announcing it. Fake Punt or what?

I've said a couple of times now that neither Cody nor KVN have played with the same motor and fire this year. KVN at least has the numbers. Cody looks like he wishes he had gone pro. I feel bad for him.

If it's just one game, no biggie... won't need him vs. MTSU.

So with J Dub likely out, Hadley out, and Hill not throwing well, losing Hoffman would hurt.

Sounds like just a false rumor.

We'll know in a couple of hours once the beat reporters get done reading the daily HuffPo and BYU starts answering phone calls.

I dont agree that KVN is showing less effort. Hw do you draw this conclusion?

He's getting spied on and run away from and spread out wide (Utah) to limit his ability to roam and wreak havoc.

Bronco is not turning him loose as often due to corner back issues. He is fine.

Don't buy KVN playing with less heart.



Now, Cody, playing a little less motivated I do buy. He's a wide receiver. He wants to catch the ball and make plays. The best QB that's thrown to him is Riley Nelson.

KVN has been playing with a very high motor. The other teams are playing specifically to stop him, and he is still making a big impact. He's also had a couple qb take downs where the qb managed to legally get the ball away to no one as they were going down, limiting KVn's sack numbers somewhat.

I've been reading over this guy's twitter feed. I'm not buying what he's saying about BYU wanting to announce this as close to kickoff as possible. Makes me doubt the whole thing.
