Being a BYU fan or a ute fan and hearing Whittinghams interview with Jason Shepherd where Shepherd refers to an earlier interview with Andy Reid who said Kyle still bleeds blue and Kyle, when asked about it says, "No comment."

As a BYU fan I've written him off and could not care less if he ever came back the "Y". As a ute that has got to drive them nuts that their coach still have obvious feelings of fondness for your worst enemy.

Go Cougs!!!

That was the perfect opportunity to say, "No, I am a Utah guy now." I think deep down he cares about BYU. It's hard not to once you have been there, unless you had a terrible experience. He didn't. He is an emotional, competitive guy. He gets his team ready to play BYU. His job is to win football games. You have to give him credit for that.

Fine, but why didn't he take the BYU job over the Utah job?

Probably several reasons. 1) the BYU job is a lot tougher, recruiting, honor code, expectations, less need for discipline/making tough decisions regarding players. 2) better pay at Utah. 3) he didn't like the switch from Royal to Navy blue.

Kyle made his choice and that's that. He's the football version of a son of perdition as far as I'm concerned. There's no coming back.

No he's worse than that. He is a guy who loved BYU and then BYU turned its back on his dad who then hated BYU, as with all of Fred Whits descendants. And now Kryle hates BYU as much as he once loved it. Think Nephite turned Lamanite. Wronged and now has the means to exact revenge. This is why as long as Whit is at Utah, BYU will never end up winning even 50% not to mention 1 of 4. He breeds hate and nastiness and emotion that gradually wears away BYU guys.

Throw in some PAC refs who let it get out of hand until BYU tries something similar and gets called for it and you have the complete lopsided advantage. And Kryle knows it.
