Ziggy Breaking Out

This match-up is the type of match-up the Lions and other NFL teams wanted Ziggy's freak athleticism for--keeping RGIII and the new breed of quarterback contained.



It's paying off hugely so far--last week Ziggy graded out as the Lions' best defensive player in week 2. This week against the 'Skins and RGIII, Ziggy has the following stat line:



7 tackles (most on team), 2 solo sacks, 1 TFL, and two QB knockdowns.



....and there's still a full quarter left to play.

He only added one stat to his line in the 4th quarter--a forced fumble



7 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 QB knockdowns, 1 FF, 2 solo sacks.



Someone is earning their money.

Awesome. Perhaps this will change the minds of the Detroit naysayers.
