You are a great defensive coordinator. One of the best in the country. But as the HC, you need to have as much influence over the offense than you do. You need to keep a thumb on Anae, and you need to be involved in the play calling in key situations - which means you need to have enough understanding of the O to lend relevant insight. And losing 4 times in a row to your rival is not and never will be acceptable. Coaches do and should get fired for this.
A message to Anae:
I was sure that your play calling would have improved after your brief excursion to Arizona. But you proved that once again you keep trying to outsmart the D when all that you are doing is outsmarting yourself. Case in point: When you have 1st and goal at the 3, the right play call is NOT a funky double-pitch rugby play. The correct play call is run between the tackles, or PA. Conversely, on 3rd and 7 at your own 10-ish, the correct play call is NOT a run between the tackles. The rugby double pitch would have made more sense.
A message to Holliday:
We are 3 games into the season, and the receivers are still inept. They drop easy passes and have zero chance at a reception with any kind of defensive presence (with the exception of Hoffman). This is on you. Might be time to brush up the ol' resume.
A message to Hill:
You have an All American receiver. He is #2, and his name is Cody. Get to know him better. On key 3rd and 4th downs, the ball should be going to him, not some scrub who has never caught a pass.
A message to the D:
You guys played good, but not great. Good job keeping the score down. But your job is more than just scoreboard management, no matter what Bronco says. Your job is to also wreak havoc on the O, causing confusion and forcing mistakes that lead to turnovers and short fields for the O. You have now failed to create a single turnover in the past 2 games (also problematic last year), and have given up too many yards, leading to poor starting field position for the O. Great defenses create turnovers. You are not a great defense yet. But you have it in you to become one.
A message to KVN, Hoffman, Falslev, and any other deserving seniors:
You are absolute studs. I'm sorry that you will end your careers never having tasted victory over your rivals. You deserve better. I'm sorry that you happened to play during these last 4 years when our O couldn't put it together.
A message to the Freshman class:
There is a date that you need to circle on your calendars. That date is September 10, 2016. You will be the senior leaders of this team then. It is up to you to end this crap. Make it happen.
A message to Travis Wilson:
I was impressed with your accuracy, your poise, and your toughness. I think you have the makings of a great QB. I wish we had you.
A message to Kyle Whittingham:
You are a :utard: of the highest order. May a three legged ram step on your toe.
