Big 12 Audition?

Was last Saturday BYU's Big 12 Audition? BTW - we own the Long Horns something like 3-1. Too bad they squeaked out that win a couple of years ago.



We have blown them out at least twice.



Do you think it opened any eyes Saturday?

BYU is 5-1 against Texas and Oklahoma.

A&M big win in Provo.



But, we have won and lost a few to A&M, Okie State, KU, Baylor, T Tech, TCU, etc.



Missouri Holiday Bowl win was huge.

Is it a good thing or a bad thing for us getting into the Big XII that we keep beating their elite teams?

Don't underestimate Big 12 (especially UTs) hubris. BYU may have helped chip away at one of the concerns/barriers to entry--namely that BYU can compete (though I question that week in and out) --and as Schmoe suggests, did that hurt BYU?--BUT, Bronco has stated that the college football world is watching and wondering whether or not BYU can win big games and therefore be found deserving of being in one of the upcoming superconferences.

Audition, not technically or literally.

Earning respect? Definitely.

Wow, does BYU desperately need Mack Brown to turn this year around!!!

But then again, does BYU really want to be part of Super Babylon? I don't think so for the sake of just "belonging" or the revenue. Exclusion won't mean the deathNell for all other university Sports programs.

And besides, will BYU really want to pay its players? Think of the parity problem of paying all NCAA athletes--if that becomes a stipulation/"evolution" for Babylon 5.

Blowing out the elite teams might make the little guys vote for us.

I'd guess that BYU has maybe a .500 record against the rest of the founding Big XII teams. I know they're 0-2 versus Ok St, 0-1 versus KU, and 1-1 versus Baylor.
