My Bad

To quote Lloyd Christmas: "I was way off!"



I said after UVA that this team would be lucky to win 5 games (I think that was my prediction, but a losing season was the idea) unless things changed drastically. I didn't think it would happen. At all. I never gave them any chance to do it in one week. Couldn't believe my eyes, and I was in the north endzone for the whole thing. I don't know how many times I said to my wife that I can't believe what I just saw.



I'm still petrified for the Utah game and won't believe we will win until the game is over. I still think we are going to lose. Not logical or rational reason why, just pure, unadulterated fear.

We might lose. Expect a dog fight. They fight until the last snap, too. Ask USU. You can't let down at all. See Y@UVA. We used to say that you have to play 4 quarters. Now we need to play all 5 quarters.



U has the opportunity to build on their 2-0 start Saturday and carry that momentum into the rivalry game at 3-0 and with three games under their belt. If they do beat OSU, I hope they come to Provo over confident and under-prepared. If they lose to OSU, I hope they do not come to Provo focused, prepared, and with a chip on their shoulder.



BYU has the advantage of an extra week to prepare and to heal up. I hope we do not lose the swagger and momentum from the Texas beat down. I hope BYU does not get over confident. I hope BYU comes in focused, prepared, and with a chip on their shoulder.

I think we all had a similar dread racing through our minds after the UVA game. But, like I said, the conditions of that game were so ugly that no one could accurately assess either team from it. Glad our coaches are wise enough to be able to see the root of the mistakes and have the experience to fix them.
