Buy or sell 110 offensive plays for BYU in a game this year?

BYU ran 99 plays against Texas and 93 against Virginia.

sell. The 99 vs Texas had factors such as weather and ease of rushing that helped get the play #'s up. I think we'll see less plays as taysom's passing % improves.

Definite Buy. As teams start stacking the box, BYU will pass more. Passes (due to the clock stopping after an incomplete pass and after a first down) take less time off the clock than rushes. BYU will have a game with more plays.

Buy, they could have had that many plays in this game had they not slowed down in the 4th quarter.

Byu or Sell: BYU will average 250 yards rushing per game this year?

Buy.

We play Houston, who is averaging 98 plays per game; Nevada and BSU, who both are averaging 88 plays per game, and USU who is averaging 84 plays per game.

In one or more of those three games, the combination of two HUNH offenses is going to result in a fantastic number of offensive plays being run.

Sell even though I agree with the quoted logic - Plus, more importantly, we will probably have at least one opponent that our D shuts down to 3 and out better, reserving more clock for BYU.

But if we are blowing someone out - Go Slow Go Reserves will offset.

We will top 100 - but 110 is a really high number. The Texas game already seemed like it lasted forever.

Sell. BYU will start scoring after 2-5 plays. The defense will go into a more bend don't break mode and opponents will start running more plays that BYU, but not scoring as much. ;)

Sell. While the rushing game is BYU's current bread and butter, I see more passing in the future and less running roughshod over opponents. Texas WAS a mess on defense, we won't see that with USU or Utah or Georgia Tech or Wisc.

Sell. Teams will learn from the tape of the Texas game and spy on Hill. Hill will pass more. He will have more games this year with the same total offense or greater.

Buy or sell, BYU gets a shutout this year.

I'll have to sell this, unfortunately. Too many plays for the defense to hold up all game long. BYU's defense was dominant against Texas, but they still scored 21 points and had over 400 yards.

Buy or Sell, Hill will have a 65% passing game this year?

Buy. BYU has a couple of easy games on the schedule so it will happen.

Buy or Sell, Hill's PER at the end of the year will be close to the magical 135?

If Taysom's throwing completion improves I believe we gain more yards per play and score faster, which will equal less total plays.

Fewer plays per possession, but more possessions. So, it depends how much the opponent is able to milk the clock on their possessions. Creating turnovers and holding to 3 and out would minimize that.

Buy. He will improve throughout the year and as teams key on his running it will open up more easy passes.

BYU finds a way to get Ammon Olsen in the game. Maybe reverse wildcat. Maybe TH and AO in on the same play. Maybe an injury. Maybe an equipment problem like TH helmet popping off requiring him to go out for 1 play.

Or I was wrong above and AO gets a quarter of mop-up duty.
