Bronco says the staff is preparing just like any other game!!!!



Uh- oh, Here comes a meltdown.

If you listened to any interviews with the players, you know it's not like any other game and that the team is not going to prepare like it is. I think there's a good argument whether coaches should prepare like any other game---if there's a weakness on the other team, they are going to try to exploit it, period. Just knowing it's Utah doesn't change that process at all.

No matter what he says it's bulletin board material. Might as well give them Boring bulletin board material though... ;)

More like Bronco NOT stirring the pot. No bulletin board material. Won't matter to Utah. They have no problem getting up for the BYU game. And Kryle knows a win in Provo would mean job security-- an opportunity he won't have for the next two years, but a stat line that he certainly could and would and who wouldn't. 4-0 and 5 of last 6 vs BYU. And a State championship in 2013.

Maybe the sub text is, we are preparing like we have for any team (when a bye week occurs prior).

I think Cougs Rule is spot on. Bronco is giving text book "Mis-information" to the media. It's the classic "no big deal, just another game." Everybody knows that is not true - but - as a coach, you cannot give the Yewt Pukes any fuel. Bronco is showing wisdom. Deep down, he's burning to thrash the Pukes. Payback, just because the sky is blue. Smash'm.

Perhaps. But is Anae? It's his fire that has been just as much in question in the past vs Utah. There's no reason to allow history to repeat itself by letting off the gas in the 2nd half like we always do, assuming we have a lead.

I'd settle for just not 3 runs up the gut and a field goal try. But, since that Utah loss was the straw that broke the camels back, IMO, Anae has fire-ou better believe that. But Bronco is the one that will make the call on FG OR GO FOR IT.

Field Goal kicker is 100% so far this year. He will win us some games.

Which is why I started this sarcastic thread. Of course BYU isn't preparing "just like any other game". BUT, according to a good chunk of BYU fans BYU/Bronco are idiots for treating the utah game "just like any other", while Kyle "really gets his team ready". Bronco has been slaughtered on message boards for similar statements in the past. Why is this different?

I think it's different because we've been hearing differently all season long. Players and coaches have been telling us since the beginning of fall camp that this game is circled on the calendar. Bronco's giving us the coach-speak now, but this year he's changed his outlook on the game, and you can tell from the team's attitude about the game since week 1.
