BoiseBYUA pretty impressive week! I've never seen such rushing in all my life! Of course I speak of John Kerry and his rush to judgment on Syria. But enough of politics! Let's get on with football!
5. U.Suck.Cal. Trojans lost at home. To Wazzu. And Wazzue did not even score a touchdown. The best thing that ever EVER happened to UCLA, at least when it comes to football, is the hiring of Coach Kiffin. First he put TN in a tailspin. Now SC is in a death spiral.
4. Buffalo. On the good side--they only let their opponent, Baylor, have the ball for 11 minutes. On the bad side, Baylor stil racked up 576 yards. So Baylor was averaging about 50 yards PER MINUTE. Ouch. Note to TX: Do NOT hire Buffalo's DC. It might get worse for you.
3. Western Kentucky. In six consecutive plays, W. KY had five turnovers. That takes some doing!
2. Western Michigan. They lost to Nicholls State 27-23. The same Nicholls State that gave up 772 yards last week to Oregon. Maybe Nicholls State D got all fired up after last week and said not in our house! Maybe. But Bottom 5 is going with W Michigan just stinks.
And by the way....what is up with the Western Schools? Western Oregon lost 43-14 to E. Washington; Western New Mexico lost to San Diego 38-35; West Virginia lost to Oklahoma 16-7; Western Texas A&M did win 48-21, but it was over Western St (Col.) and the Bottom Five considers that cheating; West Virginia Wesleyan lost 49-7 to Elon; and West Carolina lost to VA Tech 45-3. Perhaps a harbinger of the end of Western Civilization?!?
1. Delaware St. They lost to Delaware 42-21. Having lost their rivalry game, I guess the season is over and there's no further purpose in playing this year. Just joshing. Real Number one goes to:
1. Oklahoma State. SI reporting direct payments to players, academic miscounduct, drug use, and sex with recruiting hostesses. Sordid and disgusting. Fortunately for OK State the NCAA will take 7 years and then ban the starting QB from the bathroom for one quarter.
MLB update: Houston has an outstanding week, going 3-7 over their last 10 games. They are now at 95 losses. They are 35 games out of first place. That is ineptitude!
In the NFL, Jacksonville, which put up 2 points, and the Giants, which put up sic turnovers lead the early way.
