Is BYU BCS Worthy?

According to some pundits, if we can run the table going forward or have one more loss (acceptable and close / ND or WI away games), BYU might be in consideration for a BCS bowl game. Of course, I get the one game at a time mantra, and counting chickens before they hatch, but if TX rights the ship, and we soundly defeat more ranked teams, it would seem logical that our exposure on ESPN with big wins would count for something.

Silly to consider. Such short sidedness, such hubris, such a short memory, such a taking your eye off the ball cost BYU a loss in the first game and could cost a win vs Utah.

There is No way BYU is BCS worthy. T. Hill is too slow, the offensive line can't get it done, everybody knows the Robert Anae GFGH offense just won't work, and Bronco ..... well .... Bronco .... enuff has been said already about that guy.

Yeah, we really looked good against a defense that is ranked 111th in their last 15 games, and fired their (incompetent) defensive co-ordinator 2 games into the season!

We definitely deserve the BCS game. BRING ON OREGON AND ALABAMA!!! AT THE SAME TIME!!!

One game does not make you BCS worthy but they certainly took a step in the right direction.Certainly some of the hard games look a little more winnable looking at you BSU and Notre Dame. Time will tell ask me again in the beginning of December.

We shouldn't even be talking about the BCS right now. Heck, this reminds me of the stupid fans around me at LE stadium back in 2008 who were chanting "BCS!" when we thumped UCLA 59-0. Way too soon then and way too soon now.

Let me be clear. This question was not aimed at crowing because of the TX win or even the UVA loss. Just note that those are both BCS teams, and I can say that we have comparable talent to those schools despite our lack of supposed 4-5 star players. Yes, coaching can make a difference in play, but you must also have athletes. Intangibles such as intelligence and attitude can be of great assistance in performance such as being assignment sound and knowing how to make adjustments to areas that need improvement. Clearly BYU coaches and players made the necessary corrections, in a one week period, and this in itself is quite impressive. My point, is that there is not much that appears to separate us from the BCS teams, and thus, should we finish the season with a respectable record, we should merit consideration for a BCS game given the level of competition that we scheduled.

If the question is "Is BYU BCS bowl worthy" the answer can be nothing other than "no" no 1-1 team in the history of the BCS has ever been BCS bowl worthy.

Let me clear this up for you:

Virginia sucks and might not make a bowl game.

Texas sucks and probably won't make a bowl game, and their head coach will be fired after this year, or sometime during.

I'm pretty sure a 1-1 Alabama team would still play for the national/BCS championship. I mean it is Alabama after all.

I'm pretty sure a 1-1 Alabama team would still play for the national/BCS championship. I mean it is Alabama after all.

0-2 Alabama team would probably play for the National Championship.
