The 16 point curse

BYU has lost eight straight games when their final score is 16. The last time they won when scoring 16 points was in 1987. Prior to that they were 3-3 when scoring 16 going back to 1970.



The next time BYU has 13 points on the board and they are lining up for a fieldgoal I hope it is a fake.

Good observation. It looks like BYU's defense is going to have to hold its opponents to under 20 this season for the Cougs to have a chance because as long as Bronco and Anae keep trying to run this silly GFGH offense, points are going to be hard to come by, not to mention having a QB that is not a true passer who is a step or two slower than last season owing to the MCL tear suffered against Utah State.

I wonder what the record is for 15, 14, 13, 12 and so on to 0. Point is, you lose when you don't score many points. 16 ain't going to win nobody many ball games.

How about 40? Not many teams will lose when you score that many. That 40-21 win over Texas was awesome. Great rushing, room for improvement passing still.

I can think of a few last year that BYU could have won with 16...
