BYU's strength of schedule

BYU had a lot of preseason hype about playing the hardest schedule in BYU history, but I'm not so sure about how difficult some of our games will be. Texas beat NM State, 56-7. Utah and Utah State both have obvious flaws-that was a close game. Middle Tennessee State and GA Tech shouldn't be too hard. Houston beat Souther (whoever that is) 62-13. Boise State lost @ Washington, 38-6. Wisconsin beat Wyoming at home, 37-34. Idaho State shouldn't be too hard. Notre Dame beat Temple, 28-6. Nevada lost to UCLA in Pasadena.



I think we're looking at a season with at least 8 regular season games. What do you think?

Texas decided to play after halftime against New Mexico State, Utah and Utah State are both better than BYU after week 1, Georgia Tech won't be the pushover they were last year and actually rang USC's bell in their bowl game last season after making major changes, Houston can move the football, Wisconsin did not play Wyoming (Nebraska did), the Badgers destroyed UMass 45-0, Notre Dame will beat BYU again and Nevada will be a test, especially at Nevada. Right now, I see two gimmes... MTSU and Idaho State... other than that, where are the other 6 sure wins? With this silly offensive scheme Anae is running, BYU's D is going to have to hold teams to about 17 points for them to have a chance to win and that is going to be a tall order, especially against schools like Texas, Utah, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, etc. Right now, 6-6 should be considered a successful season after what we saw today.

Thank you wolf man saying exactly what I was going to say. We're in deep trouble if we don't figure this out this week.

Naw, losing to a good to great team like Texas could be respectable.



Losing to an AWFUL team like utah in week three (Four) would be bad though.

Watching both teams play I think it's safe to say we're more awful based off the first games. They have a W in their column against a respectable opponent and we have a L in ours against an opponent projected to be last place in their conference. Besides next week they will have another W and from the looks of it we will have another L in the columns. Momentum in key.
