With Hoffman we win that game

That's my thoughts. What do you guys think? Maybe a little silver lining.

No, I agree. If we have a healthy Hoffman, we bring more size and talent to the field. Maybe there was also a mental factor without him in the game that hindered the rest of the team.

if the ball thrown to Jamal was thrown to Hoffman instead, then yes...



otherwise there was to much poor play by the o-line and poor accuracy by TH for Hoffman to make a difference.

I agree. The game should have been a "W" for the Cougs. It was close. It shouldn't have been. Hoffman would have tipped the scales for the O with a sure handed, dependable receiver.



The last TD for Virginia would have never happened with Hoffman receiving.

Hoffman has to have a QB who can deliver the ball to him on moderate to deep routes with an O Coordinator who believes in a passing attack with offensive smarts... neither exist right now, thus, would have had a minimal impact on the outcome. If I'm Cody and Kyle, I'm thinking to myself... 'I came back for this'? :blush:

Hoffman made over 100 catches last year and most the balls were not always on target but ones he had to make a play. His leadership and ability to draw double coverage would have opened up seams and other routes not otherwise available. To say Hoffman wouldn't have made a difference is to say our D wouldn't suffer from a loss of KVN.

Couldn't dis agree more. On both points.



TH didn't have time to throw. We didn't try much to throw down field. TH's accuracy was horrible. The offensive line's & TH's poor play made the Hoffman point a moot point.



Comparing a defensive star to Offensive star has major differences. Taysom would have to have the time, the call and the accuracy to have hoffman make a difference.

KVN just has to be on the field and have a blitz called to make a difference.

Hoffman should have play one down as a decoy to open it for the other receivers and not risk an injury. UVA put in a back as extra blocker on KVN.
