Bronco: Hill was "Gritty and tough."

Here we go again. Is this an omen of things to come?

I will question Bronco's sanity if he keeps playing an awful Taysom Hill because he has grit. This is getting to be beyond ridiculous.

While I agree Hill wasn't anything special, he looked okay for his 3rd career start on the road across the country. Plus, I would submit that Detmer would have looked like garbage with that OL performance.

At least he didn't say anything about "execution" did he? I'm so tired of all these gay terms our coaches keep using. How about they spend more time recruiting D1 OLINE-men instead of coming up with catchy names to give fans false hope?!

Oh boy, here comes the love fest with Hill... maybe Taysom is related to Nelson or something? BYU could start out 0-3 and all you'd hear from Bronco is how tough, gritty and competitive Hill is... nauseating.

The game was close, no blowout, and early season miscues can be corrected. Let's see how the team responds vs TX knowing that they should have one that game and assuming Anae and company learn from the loss. Better that this is an early season loss than the SJSU towards the end of the year. Note SJSU finished ranked last year so they were much better than we gave them credit. Same may end up applying to VA as well.

12 punts... 23 3rd downs... six 3 and outs... this is Bronco's 9th season and Anae was OC just a mere three years ago who is supposed to have plenty of experience under his belt. Hill was erratic all day with his throws and is not a true QB. This was a game BYU could not afford to lose and now the rest of the season is irrelevant because even if the Cougs manage to get to 6 wins (which, at this juncture, looks to be a very tall order), it's another meaningless bowl game in December against who cares since there is no conference title to play for anymore (which was always easy in the old dumpy MWC). BYU and Holmoe have dug themselves a hole with their greed by shunning the Big 8 and staying with independence to preserve their beloved ESPN contract (which I am sure they are kicking themselves over right about now as Y games have been relegated to ESPN 3 and ESPN U). BC1, this is 4 years running now with glaring problems on the offensive side of the ball... yes, it was game 1, but the Cavaliers are hardly world beaters and Bronco and Anae are not beginners.
