T. Fabuluje Admitted to BYU

Per a Kyle Collinsworth tweet this morning....



Now I'm curious to here the details of his football status for this year.

Brandon Gurney now backing tweet up. Says he talked to Tayo and he confirmed.

I am pretty sure that he will be able to joint he team but no be able to play until next year.

I tell ya it's hard to be a fan these days. Nothing about not liking the Cougs or anything, but it's so heart wrenching this fall thus far to see the players going down, not for a few days or weeks, but season. Frustrating.



Then this Fabuluje story. I haven't read in depth, but I have zero understanding why GP would not release a player that had played for BYU and to a school that released him to them.



It's great for him that he's back, but as of yet I don't know that his status does us any benefit football wise. Maybe the difference from a decade or so ago is we didn't have all the inside info that we do now and being in the dark was more calming to the nerves as most fans didn't know so much almost instantly. I don't know if this makes sense, but I haven't been posted at all lately because to me BYU issues are more volitile than they used to be (no only because of social media, but because we have no conference and that makes this experience different.)

I hope this is a good move For Tayo. Welcome back big fella. Why did you leave in the first place? Gas wasn't greener, was it. Nt trying to be mean, but some wild hair thought took you away.

I get why GP isn't letting him go freely and unencumbered--if that is even the resin he can't play this year and loses a year. Aren't these all NCAA rules? But of it was GP who was being difficult, he has to be. Kids would transfer ALOT if there was no penalty.

Given that as the incumbent starter he left the team on the eve of Fall camp, I wouldn't be lining up to do him any favors either.

IIRC he left because he wanted to be closer to home. Guess homesickness is no longer an issue. Add in who wants to be a horned frog the rest of their life?

He was cleared by BYU's admissions department and was granted acceptance into the university - will start classes in September. Should be meeting with the coaches to discuss his future and football plans - likely 2014 unless he can start practice now.

Report: Former TCU OT Tayo Fabuluje transferring back to BYU

TCU starting offensive tackle Tayo Fabuluje quit the team for personal reasons. Tayo Fabuluje is returning to BYU.



Tayo Fabuluje is returning to Brigham Young.



Fabuluje announced he was leaving TCU's football program two weeks ago for "personal reasons" and it seems he's decided to return to where his college football career began. Fabuluje told Deseret News reporter Brandon Gurney that he "just got admitted [Wednesday]. I'm coming back to BYU!"



The offensive tackle originally committed to BYU coming out of high school in 2010. He redshirted the 2010 season before then deciding to transfer to TCU. After sitting out the 2011 per NCAA transfer rules, Fabuluje started 12 games for the Horned Frogs in 2012 and was listed as the team's starting right tackle in 2013 before announcing his departure.



Fabuluje has two years of eligibility remaining, but will likely have to sit out the 2013 season because of his transfer, leaving him with one season to play in 2014.



So in the end, because of transferring, he will only play 2 years of college ball it appears.
