BYU-Utah Game Thread

So far, so ugly.

Two 3 and outs in a row for our offense, not impressive at all.



The only playcall I've been really disappointed in so far was the opening play of our second drive.

I understand that the screen to Unga was the call... but if you're Max Hall you have GOT to see those two Ute players running right at Unga, I mean, really, just WHERE did Hall expect Unga to go?



Chambers has also frustrated me a little so far, hesitating in the endzone and then deciding to return the kickoff, and also not being able to secure the ball with his hands on a couple passes.

Secondary is getting eaten up.



3-0 :utard: and :utard: ball.

C'mon defense!!!!!!

this next play will be huge.

3rd and 3 and they are in our redzone.

Stop them here and they kick a FG to make it 6-0. That's not what I want, but it's nothing devastating.



However, we allow the 'tards to score a TD here and go up 10-0, well.... we all know how Max plays these guys from behind.

second bad playcall - "trick" run to unga on 2nd and 3. Just freaking pound the ball down the middle or up the side with Unga... what's the need for a risky trick run?



Oh well, we got the first.



And then a third stupid play.

Hall stares down DiLuigi the entire play and throws it to him despite the Ute player standing right behind JJ, ready to make the tackle.



*sigh*

atta boy HALL!!!! 3rd and 10, huge run by Max for first down.



At first I was like "No max no!" and then it was "go max go!"

Tonga has a lot to do to make up for that stupid $^&#

Didn't see what Tonga did. What did he do?

Tonga ought to be benched for the rest of the game for that stupid penalty. Very well could have costed us a TD. I'm not joking. How extremely selfish and thoughtless of him to do that when we were that close to scoring a touchdown.



Luckily, :utard: gets a personal foul after Payne kicks in the 37 yard FG. 1 down cougs :evil:



Let's hope we at least get 3 points out of this second opportunity, or it would be better had we just kept the field goal :sick:

It's not just you. It kills me to see such a passive attitude on a team that is supposed to be so disciplined...

We saw Kwhit was in the face of the dude #28 for his personal foul, he won't do it again after getting that earful.

AFter the play was well dead, away from the pile and RIGHT on front of the ref, he straight shoved someone in the chest.

We get a freebie and 3 shots for a TD and cant convert. :angry: Why did we go for the end zone each time too. We didn't need all 10 yards at one time.

Payne making that second field goal just saved me a heart attack. Thank goodness.



I COMPLETELY COMPLETELY COMPLETELY agree with the disappointment at BYU's passive attitude about Tonga's penalty. That's our SECOND 15-yarder already. Bronco ought to be up in his face, and Tonga's teammates ought to be in his face as well. Absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable.

Excuse my negativity, it'll be with me until the win is cemented

big props to the BYU defense for holding Utah when they had such great field position from Stephenson's stupid kick out of bounds.



THIS is our opportunity to tie it up or get ahead. If we are gonna win this game, we can NOT throw away big opportunities. Thus far we have, so let's start turning that around with this drive.

Kwhit is a much better coach than the one we have, that's why. We consistently get better talent (Hall, Pitta and co. VS Johnson - not even close) and have much more support for our program, but he turns lesser talent into a better program. They always look prepared, every game they play. I bet they practice more than 3 times a week, too. And with pads, even.



I am tired of caring more about the games we play than seemingly the coaches. I mean, you get paid to do this... Show some emotion. Clearly some people can't coach themselves, and need direction. How many Personal Foul calls are Tonga and Chambers going to get before we accept responsibility for them?

Only been watching a few minutes but our offense looks...anemic...
