Some interesting points made in the article talking about how the game was revolutionized around 1970. I found it very interesting that since 1970 only one team has played more games than BYU (535) and that is Nebraska (540). I would attribute BYU's higher number of games played to consistent bowl appearances, being selected for kick-off classic games, playing at Hawaii every other year, and a few conference championship games. I assume Nebraska has more games because of their conference championship games and they probably didn't miss as many bowl games as we did.



Nice to be number 14 in the historical rankings with Utah at 40, but we still need to beat them on the field.

The biggest power is $$$. The second biggest is winning, and the third is being at the forefront of change.



If BYU had as much $$$ as schools like Texas, Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State, it would be very well known across the country just how well BYU has done in the other two.

Seeing UTSA at #18 gives the list TONS of credibility.

350 out of their 518 wins were NAIA, DII, or IAA. The Bronco's FBS winning percentage is 82.8% (the best ever), but they have only played 203 FBS or I-A football games. 168 wins, 35 losses. Hee-haw!

Ya but how do their total D1 wins stack up against BYUs or other top programs? They are up there, I hate the Donks, but they haven't looked like Montana.

No doubt. Total D1 wins puts them in about the top 100. They just haven't played enough games.



Winning percentage - they are easily #1 with 82.8%. Nebraska would be #2 with 78% win percentage. The main knock on Boise St. (by national fan bases), is that they only play one or two meaningful games each year and have built up their winning percentage by running through an easy WAC schedule.



This is the same argument that many national fan bases use to knock BYU.



BYU needs to beat Boise St. in 2013!
