Riley Nelson new Ocoordinator at Logan High

Whatever you thought of Nelson as a QB, I always thought he was a good guy. Hope he does well.

Excellent for Riley. I think it will be satisfying for him personally. I think the high school athletes will love Riley's infectious "can do" attitude, and all parties involved will be better for it. It's a win - win.

That's what I thought. Maybe he didn't get in. Or maybe he was late with the application process -- you apply over a year in advance. So if he is just applying now he will have a free year to coach HS football.

First HS O-Coord in Utah to wear a midriff.

I would say first in the country, but I remember a meathead coach from a Plano team we played in the late-90s that took that prize.

I honestly would love to never hear the name riley nelson again. i am sure he is a great person but it makes me physically ill when he is even brought up in a conversation.

Riley Nelson will succeed at whatever he chooses to do. Leadership. Grit. Smarts. Gamer.

I would actually prefer to see him pursue coaching than med school. If willing to move all around the country, he might succeed at working his way up the ladder one rung at a time.

A family friend of mine is doing this right now. High School assistant coach last season. D1 College graduate assistant this coming season half way across the country - 2 year gig there. Long road. Reminds me of the life of a minor league baseball player trying to get to the bigs.

Did you typo country and meant county? He'll go From Logan OC (running man) to Logan HS HC, maybe. to Logan AD. I mean come on! Are you serious? The biggest move he would ever have to make is across the state border to Idaho making videos with Uncle Rico.. :lol: :lol: :lol: :roll:

Actually, I wouldn't mind a throwing contest. My accuracy couldn't be any worse and my velocity, even at 48, has to at least match if not surpass his. But that's nothing to brag about.

My dad was in the same boxing club as Gene Fullmer. When Fullmer was World Middleweight Champion he came to visit and told me and my siblings that my Dad used to kick his butt in high school. Just sayin.......... Dad is 83 and has lost a little strength and quickness since he took 2nd in National Golden Gloves and National AAU bouts. The old newspaper clipping says he was robbed.

Maybe you could find someone to run a deep route and have Manti Teo's girlfriend make a UTube video of you tossing a rainbow in his direction.

Did you mean to say "Chuck a Duck"? Cuz I remember a lot of ducks being thrown, but not much ducking going on...hence the ribs/back/shoulder.

The Fullmer family was a great family. Gene had the most boxing success but Don had a solid career as well. I did not follow Jay as closely. Gene and Don both boxed as middle weight boxers. Jay was a light weight. My dad was a year or so older than Gene. Jordan High School was the connection to my Dad.

Agree. Chuck and Duck was Jake Heaps. Chuck a Duck was Nelson.

Nelson was on 1320 earlier this week. He said he's applying to 25 med schools (said Utah is his number one choice). And contrary to popular opinion, he's not the best guy in the world. If you listen to the interview (I'm sure it's on their website), he sounds as cocky as ever. Glad to see that the 3 year nightmare of Nelson is finally over.

And if anyone cares, they will run the same offense that Logan has ran for close to 10 years. If anyone saw Jordan High play last year, it's a very similar offense as that, except the QB at Jordan is a much better football player (is a 2 year starter that just finished his soph year in high school) than Riley was in high school and was breaking all the state records. I don't believe the kid at Jordan is LDS, but he would be a great fit in the offense that BYU is trying to install.
