The EPA grants a waiver of FOIA fees 92% of the time for the "Big Green" groups like Sierra Club, but denies 93% of fee waiver requests from conservative critics.

The EPA is crap to begin with. No surprise there.

I had a friend that called the epa and all like them watermellons ie. green on the outside and red on the inside. While I knew he was right this is proof.



It's kind of interesting that all of this bureaucratic/government discrimination and predjudice has mostly hit the fan (Bengazie excepted) within a week or so. It didn't happen within this time. Maybe one bureaucracy's exposure weakened the next one enough to bring the whole house of cards to where it is now.

Personally, I think the IRS and wiretap revelations are an intimidation ploy. I think Benghazi happened too "Fast and Furious" (see what I did there?) for the WH to cover their tracks, and I think they are exceptionally vulnerable there as whistleblowers come forward.



I think the IRS and wiretapping were planned at the highest levels well in advance and that the WH has cutouts in place so that someone down the line will take the fall and it won't get tied back to them. I think the WH knows that, and has thrown these two bones out there to (i) distract the press that was starting to get on board with the Benghazi investigation, and (ii) tacitly intimidate any future whistleblowers. These revelations are reminders to everyone, whistleblowers especially, that this administration will find out who you are and who're you're talking to, and then they will destroy you with "independent" agency action through the EPA, IRS, etc. Imagine how much scarier this will be once they are fully in control of your healthcare.

Obama fires the IRS guy right after he resigns. Of course it was his fault and had nothing to do with the president or his party.

This ain't new stuff. FDR, LBJ, Nixon all used the IRS for abusive illegal purposes. I do not mean to trivialize the wrong we have here, just to give context that this is more of the Washington DC crap which disgusts me.

Precisely - these abuses are from a guy that spoke of lofty, heady, high minded goals. He would be more transparent, be more honorable, drain the swamp, heal the earth, raise the bar of conduct in Washington and change the culture. Sadly, Obama is all talk. He is exactly what was, before he was elected to office - a community organizer = a carnival barker.



Unfortunately, 2x we've elected a man who is a great campaigner, who is deeply partisan, dishonest, and terribly divisive. Meanwhile, the country suffers.



It's going to take months to gather all the evidence and break through the coordinated delay and stonewall tactics. But, the truth will come out. Whistleblowers and witnesses will come clean. When the dust settles, the exposed corruption will be appalling.

What we need is the appointment of a separate independent counsel on each of the five (yes, FIVE) "scandals." If Obama has learned anything from Fast and Furious and Solyndra, it's that if he denies and dodges long enough, the GOP has the attention span of a swarm of guppies in heat. After a few weeks of hearings to set the baselines, Bohner needs to take the reins and hand these off to five different men to act as independent counsel and devote all of their time and effort to one issue and use subpoena power and penalty of perjury to get to the bottom of it. That will free up the GOP to act legislatively while they have the initiative rather than searching for soundbites.



So we need independent counsel for:



1) Fast and Furious

2) Solyndra, i.e. diversion of federal grants/loans to contributors

3) Benghazi

4) AP subpoena

5) The IRS--this could actually be further split into two: (A) the targeting of conservative applicants for tax-exempt status, and (B) retaliatory audits of administrative opponents and critics.



Without independent counsel, I don't see this GOP keeping their eye on any given ball long enough to develop a damning enough case in committees where partisan sniping and subterfuge is always there to deflect. With independent counsel we're more likely to get answers, and the answers we get will be much more persuasive to those on the other side of the aisle.



Jaworski took down Nixon, and Starr brought the impeachment to Clinton. Neither was likely to happen had things remained in committees, because the other side of the aisle needs the political cover of the independent counsel.

What is so funny about all this is - Obama and his people set him up as the guy that was above it all. He would be more transparent, greater integrity, change the culture of Washington, be more inclusive, etc, etc.



The reality is, nothing could be further from the truth. This morning on Meet the Press, Bob Woodward said Obama and his administration lied about Benghazi. And Woodward knows a little about presidents that lie.



I suspect there will be more to come. An Independent counsel will blow the lid off it.

There is also the matter of favors to the Don Quixote hot air windmills all over our once beautiful hills. I have not seen a bottom line on them but I'll bet they are a long ways from breaking even and electric bills have not been reduced. Ironically they are not nearly as "green" as promoted because of the black mark from killing so many bats and birds.

That would be Fiskar--the $529MM unsecured loan from the Obama administration--which was almost $100,000,000 MORE than Fiskar even asked for. To be fair, I think this would fall under the Solyndra inquiry--diverting government funds to administration supporters. Nevertheless, here's a rundown of just how ugly Fiskar was alone--just keep in mind there are DOZENS of similar cases like this coming out of how the Obama administration "handled" the bailouts to benefit their friends:



- After the Department of Energy cancelled funding of Fisker in 2010 when the political heat got too hot, another $192MM of "cancelled" funds was paid to Fisker through June 2011. Of that, $172 million will never be paid back. The only money the government recoups is 2/3 of the insurance payment Fisker was due to get after 16 Fisker cars caught on fire during Hurricane Sandy. Fisker's CEO blames the funding cutoff on statements Mitt Romney made....in the fall of 2012. :skeptic:

- Fisker spent over $600,000 per car produced

- Fisker's first/only production car, the "Karma" had a range of 32 miles :gross:

- Fisker laid off 75% of its workers a few weeks ago. Within hours of the layoff, the federal government filed a >100 page lawsuit against them for "failure to notify" about the layoffs. You tell me how the government drafts, approves and files a failure to notify lawsuit in mere hours.....

- Fisker's owners/investors get to write off the >$200,000,000 in losses (i.e. they don't have to pay taxes on their next $200,000,000) as the loans were unsecured, nonrecourse, while taxpayers get nothing back.

- More than 3/4 of the 220 jobs created by Fisker were in Finland. The prime investors, were three americans (including the hard up Leonardo DiCaprio, and then a consortioum of Qataris, Europeans, and anonymous shell entities hiding the identities of the true backers.

Thanks sno. Where does the incredible buying of ammo by government agencies? I haven't seen a box of .22s for quite a while. They didn't get guns banned (except for biden and f'stien's wonderful safe shotguns) so they buy up ammo. That hasn't recieved as much attention as the other 5 to 6 scandals.

From 2003-2007 the head of the IRS visited the White House all of one time. Yet in 2010 and 2011 the head of the IRS visited 118 times?



That's quite the increase.

That's a very interesting "factoid" Spiff. Kinda coincidental eh? We know better. Nothing in Washington DC happens coincidentally. This IRS scandal is a cancer. How widespread it is will be exposed.

Of course, last week or the week before, when the IRS guy, who made those 118 trips, was asked for some of the reasons why, the first one he came up with was the WH Easter Egg Hunt for his kids.



I'm sure the other 116 (going to give him Easter both years) were equally simplistic. Fireworks shows. Jay-Z concerts. Pot-luck bring-your-favorite-board-game night. Stuff like that.
