Couldn't help but laugh (and think of the 1000's of threads that debated the relative merits of "grit") when I saw it and had to post.

Bronco already knows this.

Everybody knows this.

While the message is true that working harder and persevering is better than being lazy, there's no way to measure "grit".



This lady saying she can correlate grit with success is like saying I can correlate people I like with success.



When your QB is injured and can't throw worth crap but still decides to play....that's not grit. That's stupidity laced with self-centeredness.



Soft sciences like the study of grit are humorous but totally useless

By her definition sure there is. It's called time.



But what really matters is output. Of course time (effort/grit) is related to output. So is ability.

I think she is calling "grit" hard work. She is completely right. That is why Bronco favors hard work over talent because when put side by side a less talented hard worker will perform better than a more talented person who relies on talent without work. When you get lucky and find someone with talent and work ethic, you get players like Michael Jordan.
