Davies Draft Stock Rising

Many are predicting late round 2. IDK, but he certainly is drawing more interest after his post season performances.

CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman had him ranked as the #59 prospect for this year's draft as of a week ago.

#2 WCC player on the list. I think the issue for BYU was this. Zags had Olynik in the teens and a couple of other guys right behind Davies on the list. BYU just did not havw a full supporting cast and Davies flourished the minute he surrounded himsel with one.

Scouts like his unselfishness, quick, decisive post moves and good passing ability. I know that I am beating a dead horse, but it would have been nice to see how far BYU would get in the NCAA tourney with Jimmer, Emery, Harstock, Charles A., Davies, etc. Would have had a nice inside outside game.

He is invited to the NBA Camp in Chicago - one of 50 players invited. E. Harris/Gonzaga and M. Delavdova/Saint Mary's were not invited. Davies appears to have caught the eye of the scouts and appears to have a legit chance to be drafted/play in NBA.

Kudos to Brandon. And maybe even give Pope a little credit. Maybe bigs at BYU will start to realize they have to develop or they won't continue. That should be a truism for all, but sometimes I think bigs can get away with it.

I hope Brandon is mentally tough enough for the demands of the NBA and money and pressure. But, he's not drafted yet.

I believe Brandon has proved his mental toughness by sticking it out at BYU.



I am starting believe his all-around game is going to get him drafted. If he can improve his jumper from the high post he could even be valuable enough to play a lot.

Latest projection has Davies going late in the second to the T-Wolves.
