Sweep, Swept, or Split - NC Day Saturday

If I am following things correctly, in addition to being in good seasons in tennis and lacrosse, etc., and despite having had disappointing, but not bad, seasons in football and basketball



BYU plays for the NC twice on Saturday. I am not sure if anyone has ever played for a NC twice on the same day. Men's VB and Rugby.



Will BYU sweep, get swept, or split?

Judging by media coverage, I am not sure anyone cares. But BYU is favored to win both Championships. ESPNU will cover VB Championship Saturday night.



The Bibster predicts a clean sweep. A BYU sweep. Considering all sports, BYU has a very well-rounded athletic program.



BYU goes Vs UC Irvine in volleyball. I imagine VB is a big deal at UCI given that they do not have a football team and are hardly a basketball powerhouse. BYU needs to remember to show up on the court and in the stands.



Having said that, my wife is insisting that we stay home and watch this one on TV even though we have relatives that are very involved with BYU and collegiate volleyball over the years.

I think our attendance at VB games is much higher at UCI, so they might not care too much. How were our fans last night?

The stands were only 3/4 full, but mostly with BYU fans from the sound/look of things.

Is the rugby game on tv?

BYU about to win the rugby title! 1-1 so far today!

Spoke too soon! Now tied!

BYU WINS!



They score on a 3-point drop kick as time was expiring!

And then a BYU player drops to a knee and proposes to his girlfriend!

Just two years ago, the lacrosse and rugby teams played for the NC on the same day, but rugby fell to Cal.

BYU choked in all 3 sets - especially 2 and 3.

And still managed to keep each one close. Setter was the weakest spot. Patch went cold. Blockers doubled and tripled Sanders. Nobody else stepped up.



Great season, though.

No, passing was off. Setter was limited in what he could do and could not give as good sets. We went hot and cold depending on how the passing was. Just a terrible day all around.
