Church Tacitly Ok's Scouts Proposed Policy Shift

Not too terribly surprising given that the proposed "policy shift" is essentially how the church affiliated troops deal with it any way:

Essentially, troops wouldn't be able to exclude a boy from scouts "on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone." It leaves room for exclusion/expulsion for acting out on that orientation/preference, just like a heterosexual kid.



Those adults who are open or avowed homosexuals would still be prohibited from leadership etc.

I read the article Sno - I think the policy adopted by the BSA and the Church's response is measured and well thought out. I don't think the Church's or the BSA's standards are compromised. Whether we like it or not, todays political landscape is fraught with landmines and we must tread lightly - while holding to our standards.
