Just a question here. Wasn't this first announced a while back or is this another team trying to get out of a scheduled game contract?

I didn't really read much new news in there that I don't remember reading from the last time the information was posted. USM is "considering" getting out of the BYU game. Basically the BYU series does nothing for them financially. But they need to get a big pay game lined up to pay for a cancelation of the series. Unless BYU wants to negotiate the cancelation penalty down. Which would only work if BYU actually wants out of the game in favor of another opponent too.

Currently BYU has 1 road game left to schedule for 2014. If USM cancels they would also have to fill a home game slot too. For 2015, BYU only has 4 road games (including USM) and 4 home games. USM does nothing but harm to BYU's SoS, so it would stand to reason that they should be able to find better competition to fill the spot--but I'm not sure what the schedule looks like only a year out for finding more games.

It does hurt the SOS, but you take every opportunity to beat a BCS school that you can.

They are not BCS that would be Miss St. They are Conf USA unless they have moved up to the AAC (hard to keep track of those changes).
