Why Max Hall Wasn't Kept

Because he was already gone. In January he agreed to terms with the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers to try for the starting spot on their team. Hall wasn't done playing. Either that, or he is the victim of a pseudo-online hoax involving Gary Crowton (and presumably Benedict Olsen and Jake Heaps and Riley Nelson) to continue the demise of the QB position at BYU.

What a miserable city to play in, but a chance to play is a chance to play. Hope he makes the best of it.

I hope Max makes it. Not just onto the team - but as the starter. He's a fiery, spark plug kinda guy. I don't know that I'll become a Blue Bomber fan ..... that's probably a stretch. But I certainly wish Max success (and no injury).

Update - I just went to the Winnipeg Blue Bomber home page, and guess what? They have a couple px's of Max Hall. 1 he is competing in QB drills. The other he is in a Cardinal uniform.

Hall wasn't a coach. He was an undergraduate assistant - essentially an intern. There really wasn't a decision to made on him being kept or not.

I have heard that Anae wanted Max Hall to stick around and continue as a GA. But, Max is following his heart, and probably his last chance to play professional football. I hope he finds success.

It is all good. BYU legacy QB. NFL Flash before fading away. BYU Grad Assistant coach - great first gig. CFL starting QB - great if he makes it. Then more coaching - I presume.

The guy loves football.

Max Hall may start this Mon. for the Blue Bombers. Their starting QB isn't 100% healthy.
