ND drops Arizona St. in 2014 - Scheduling opportunity?

Reportedly Notre Dame needs to drop 2 games from their 2014 schedule to play their contracted 5 games with ACC teams. The first game of the ND-ASU series is this year @ Cowboy Stadium with the return trip scheduled for 2014. So that would leave ASU with a big hole in their OOC schedule. Besides the home game vs. ND, they also have a home game vs. Weber State and play @ New Mexico.



So to me, a possibility is opened. Let's say the 2014 game of the ND-ASU gets officially postponed or cancelled. BYU currently has 6 home games and 5 road games scheduled for 2014. An opportunity could be to play @ Arizona State in 2014 and then schedule the return trip to Provo at an opening in the future. OOC road games appear booked (ASU only schedules 1/season) through 2018 but maybe they make some kind of change for BYU bailing them out of a bind in 2014. BYU certainly has home game needs out in 2018 or so.



The ND game was scheduled for 10/25 and currently Boise State fills that on BYU's schedule. So that may be an obstacle.

If it gets Home and Away - do it. We should be playing teams like ASU. BCS. Regional. A rival of sorts. A pretty even match-up over the years.
