PAC12 Ref Coordinator was just kidding

Good thing he was just kidding. I mean, could you imagine a PAC12 ref/official trying to control the outcome of a game, by kicking one out of a basketball game.



But what happens when the refs don't think it's in jest? I also like hearing that my refs can earn bonuses by throwing around technical fouls and essentially awarding points to a team.



And at least one of the refs who did hear the comments didn't call a tech on a coach in a two-point loss. Oh wait.



Good thing it's all good fun.

Yeah... good thing that it was just a good joke... And I would love to have witnessed the "Discussion" that happened between all concerned. PAC 12 to Arizona: "Yep he said it, and yep it was wrong, but what are you going to do about it - join the MWC? Pull up your big boy panties and move on." PAC -12 to Rush. : You're an idiot, don't get caught doing that again, or we'll get really mad next time, and by "really mad" we mean that we'll assign you to officiate a womens basketball game in Utah for three Sundays straight..."

I heard the discussion on ESPN this morning about the PAC-12 official Ed Rush and his pre-game comments about Az Sean Miller. Taking it all in, I think it was a poor joke made by Ed Rush. I think it's the equivalent of standing in a TSA security line at the airport and joking about having a bomb in your luggage. You just don't do it - and people take it seriously.



Well, it will be resolved by the PAC-12 Commish Larry Scott. He'll probably zing Rush pretty good is my guess. Fine, suspension, perhaps terminate Ed Rush. Standing by ......

The only difference is this was the head of the officals saying that.. you know the guy that gives you your performance evaluation, so even if he wasn't going to give you a trip to cancun, if you missed an opportunity to give a technical foul, it would count against you and you know it... He really needs to be fired for this (but won't be)
