Christian Stewart Has It - Grit

Bronco just said so according to my son. The Riley Factor. Not sure if Bronco mentioned leadership.



Anyway, IMHO, GRIT is a good thing. DM must like Grit. He likes number 7.



McMahon and Detmer certainly had Grit. Saw it with my own eyes.



It will be fun to see what all these kids do on the field.



Number 7 probably wishes Bronco would not mention the unpopular Grit word.



Maybe the difference is that his grit spreads further down field and to the sidelines. Even more Grit.



I hope he stays healthy and gets some blocking.

Correct. Difference is he isn't compensating for lack of other skills. He actually can go downfield.

But AOlson did look better today on downfield throws in drills and live action. But 7, Al's named Christian has grit and game. Needs to get used to the read option offense. He will be far better than the aforementioned Mr All-grit, average arm.

I liked seeing no green jerseys on the QBs who went live today. Thye all played football and could get hit. All except T. Hill, who sat out the live scrimmage today and wpre green, but he was it.

Hope your right. Not being pessimistic - but - I'm adopting the Missouri attitude - Christian Stewart has to show me. He has a big test coming quickly this Thurs. night against UCF. Did you have to use the word "scramble"? Are you an advisor to Anae? Bc I'm sure that's his answer. Let's skewer the next qb bc I like the run game and Bronco likes grit. Don't know if it's the same thing you were listening to, but I didn't like hearing that he knew he kept trying to hit the home runs when the shorter stuff was available. Being down 2 scores in the third quarter doesn't require that. Despite all that, I do feel like he will perform much better tomorrow night.

I'm glad to know he deliberately chose the long routes. Those were open men with mismatched DBs in terms of size. Under the circumstances they were exactly the right choices. What bothered me was how bad his throws were. We can chalk those up to first game, big stage nervousness. If' that's all it was, tonight's game should be a decisive cougar win.



Realisitically, the cougs should win tonight. If Stewart's throws were as good as his choices last week, he might have engineered a surprising comeback.



On the flip side, if BYU loses tonight, there is no doubt Stewart's deficiencies will be a big part of the reasons why.

I know he threw 3 interceptions (2 of which seemed to be just over excitement due to lack of game time-the other one was tipped but should have been caught, probably for a TD), but the team moved the ball with him as quarterback.



If Leslie holds on the the tipped pass or doesn't tip it up in the air, BYU would have only been down by 7 very early in the 2nd half.

Let's not forget there were multiple drops that would have gone for huge chunks of yards if not touchdowns. I didn't see anything from the QB position that made me panic. I would've taken the underneath routes at first to warm up personally, but that's me.

Agree. Moreso, another was because he unnecessarily stepped out of the pocket and right into a pass rusher and was hit as he threw the ball to the correct receiver, and the ball was off target. The pass protection was there. 3 man rush, had all day, if he stayed in the pocket.
