Apple Apps

What is your favorite apps? What's good for BYU sports?

Sportacular is pretty good for keeping up with scores. I didn't like the ESPN app.

The ksl app lets you listen on your phone, which is nice.

Mint-Lets you access your bank account info and do minimal budget stuff. I use Day bank for my home budget stuff, but I'm not sure if it's the best.

ExpenseTracker-Good for business related expense stuff.

Other than a few games, I don't use many apps enough to recommend them. Facebook, Pandora, Yelp, the occasional Netflix, etc. They all work, which is all I care that they do.



For the most part a smartphone is a Swiss army knife and most of the apps are like the knife's version of a saw---pretty good for taking care of small jobs here and there, but terrible for real work. There are a lot of good apps if you think of them as Swiss army knife tools.

I can only speak for my IPAD2 since I just have a dumb phone. I would have to say hulu plus (Because that is most of the TV I watch), BYUTV (for Sports and other shows), and my USAA app are my favorites. The USAA App lets me take a picture of my checks and deposit it that way. Deposits in seconds. Very cool.



Strangely, I also like the calculator app I downloaded because it shows all of the past calculations in the margin.



Oh, and of course the gospel library that saves me from carrying voluminous manuals, scriptures, talks, etc. every Sunday. The IPAD2 has really been a great present for me for that reason. Sure, you could survive without it. But who would want to? ;)
