Is Ziggy really 40 years old?...

I saw the ticker on the NFL network indicate that teams are questioning Ziggy's age. It said there is question as to if he is actually 28 years old.



I thought it was funny. It's not like this is the little league world series and we are trying to sneak a 14 year old pitcher into the 12 year old league. What would Ziggy have to gain by indicating the wrong age when he enrolled in BYU? He wasn't on a scholarship for any sport and had no idea that he would even be playing football so there shouldn't be any motivation to appear younger for a pro sports contract.



I'm suspicious that teams later in the first round that are interested in Ziggy are putting out misinformation in hopes that he drops to them.

It's e reverse that would be a concern. If he is 40 he has two or three good years of that intensity. Or even 35. And to some degree even 28. That means he has 5-8 good years of this physicality. That's different than a 23 year old draftee, if everything else was equal.

Yep. But like the OP said, I wouldn't be surprised if teams lower in the draft are trying to stir up some controversy and doubts with teams picking ahead of them with the hope that he'll drop in the draft.



I think it's the same reason we're hearing questions about his passion for the game since he didn't grow up with it.



The NFL is about right now. If you have the chance to get a guy who is only going to help your team for 3-4 years and he could be a pro bowl type of player, I think you take him.



Worrying about what/where he'll be in 8 years in the NFL is dumb. The NFL is about the present. Get guys that can help your team right now.

It's not like he's trying to pitch for the Indians.

Now that's funny right there. On an age related note I wonder how many times the ESPN announcers are gonna talk about Taysom being an old sophmore

No because everyone knows when you get that old your name becomes Zigfried, not Ziggy
