Alisa vs Williams

Listening to Gunther and Graham on my way home today.. they were talking about the running back position and played a sound bite from Alisa who basically said last year he was upset that he lost his starting position due to injury.. then they debated who would be the starter..Graham said Williams and Gunther said Alisa.. according to the coaches all offensive positions are up for grabs... Who do you start and why?



I start Williams.. I think he proved himself when Alisa went down.. seems to have that extra gear out of the backfield... an extra instinct..

They are saying that Robert Anae wants to get a play off every 20 seconds. If this is true, they are going to need a bunch of running backs to play in order to keep them fresh. I bet that Hine, Williams, and Alisa all get lots of reps.

A fast, scoring offense lifts all playing times.

I was big on Alisa last pre-season, but Williams is clearly the better talent. I meant it's not even close.

It's not an either our situation. They'll both be used and heavily. The last two years featured nearly 100 fewer touches for the running backs than an average Anae offense previously did. There should be plenty of touches to go around.

+1. Anae is gonna run them till they're dawged out. Rotations will abound.

This! Hine will be very good also. In fact, maybe Anae, with all these "wrinkle" plays, will want to run a triple wildcat. ;)

If I were Alisa, I'd be worried about losing reps out to Hine. Williams is the guy. The closer race is going to be who gets the back up reps. Hine is bigg and fast, just needed to heal and show he can execute, especially blocking duties.



And I do think we will see Alisa playing some fullback this year.
