4.82. 20th slowest out of 26. Ouch.

He isn't just flopping in the 40, he has been doing poorly on most of the drills. His stock is falling.

He's been paddling a canoe instead of running.

Maybe Lennay can come back from the dead text him encouragement and turn him around? With times like that WOULD he have started at BYU? ;)

In his defense, he was still hung over from his BYU recruiting trip. I have not and could not ever root for this guy after how he and his dad handled his recruiting here and how the Teo clan reacted to what many of us knew the truth was at that time.



The fact that no one could get their story straight re: Lennay Kakua comes as no surprise... it wasn't the 1st controversy they fibbed about.



I could not as an NFL GM watch the Bama game and in good conscience draft him in the 1st two rounds, his 40 time shows exactly why he had such trouble getting to the QB. He's a smart player with a few physical tools, but the rest of the uber athletic players in the country have and will pass him up in the league.

Agreed. The NFL is fast - hyper fast. Manti Teo is not.

I think Manti can run a 4.7. He looked too bulky in his runs. But that might be it. speed is not his skill set, size and football smarts are.



And football smarts have not translated off the field, but he is a good citizen compared to many in teh NFL.



I expect him to go really late in the 1st or early 2nd round. His stock dropped about 20-30 spots.

I agree with this, but just as craigocarson alluded to, he was exposed in the championship game. I don't see him having much impact at the next level.

To put his 40 time in perspective, he was 0.2 seconds slower than Ziggy. So when Ziggy finished his 40, Manti still had 1.65 yards to go. Doesn't seem like much until you realize that's nearly FIVE feet. You don't make too many tackles when you're five feet away from the ball carrier.
