Just rumors. His injury is hard to recover from (achellis). I heard he is tired of being injured and is giving up his last year. Nothing official.

Josh Carter had an offer from oregon out of High School. I bet he will be a starter in the Fall.

AlWays appreciate stuff you throw out and connect us to, but this is Old stuff. Fast, hard, conditioning, blah, blah. Can't waitrons see and hear names. I'm just anxious I guess. Great concept and strategy, great coaches, and the least likely position group to be in shape over the summer.

This is only preview that matters. If these guys can't get it together, we're in for a repeat of last year. If they do get it together, we've got some real talent and weapons at the skill positions to give our defense an offense they can count on to win some games for the team.

Last year BYU didn't have that. They couldn't win a shootout. This year, if the defense is off (like vs OS last year) the OL could allow BYU to win some of those games.

I'd like more info on the 8 new OL men coming in this year. Is Kearsley good enough to start? Who the C will be? Is the walking Johnson really going to play?

Every writer bemoans the fact BYU lost most of its offensive line from last year. But wait, last year's line was awful, these young guns could not possible be worse. So it's an easy prediction to say the Oline will be significantly better this year than last. With Tujague and the JC recruits, I think somebody's D is going to suffer this year at the hands of the BYU offense.

I can almost believe it, but then again it's rare when a team loses a Senior starter (to injury or graduation) and the younger back-up comes in and plays better. There's normally a reason why the other guy wasn't the starter in the first place. Namely, because they aren't as good. Of course, there is some decent young talent that is coming in and just needs some experience. The coaching should be much improved as well. We hope.

The apologists and pessimists will soon cHange their tune. Lash at years OL was a 5. More talent than results and mostly bc effort and leadership was marginal.

This year will bring a 7 by mere expectations of effort alone. And maybe higher If the talent is present as questioned.

Webber was your nice uncle. Anae and 2J are your Drill Sergeants. 5 to 7 jump just in that.

Scheme and OC might add an additional 1 point. If talent and cohesion happen and injuries don't, this Oline could be an 8.5 by end of season.

In today's interview Bronco stated that the most impressive of the new recruits are D. Wesley, B. Kearsley and Thomas Shoaf. Apparently they are athletic, fast and very aggressive...could be in for some major shakeups before season starts.

It will be interesting to see what Weber does with his new OL up in Logan.
