OSU was our best rating even better than ND game.

How much of that was because of the other regional coverage games? Michigan tends to draw lots of eyeballs and WVU was an offensive juggernaut. Plus a lot of general college football fans tune in to ABC to watch whatever game is on, while only NBC only tends to attract fans of ND and their opponents. That result doesn't surprise me.



It's also interesting to look at where BYU ranked in terms of ND NBC games:



Purdue 1.9

Michigan 4.0

Miami 2.2

Stanford 3.3

BYU 2.4

Pitt 3.8

Wake 1.7



BYU was basically the median matchup for ND on NBC.

Good place if you ask me. Top 3 BCS teams. Our OSU game beat Michigan.ND.

Where are the ratings for the BYU-Utah game? BYU-Georgia Tech?



I think we will see some good numbers in 2013. Texas, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame.

Even more interesting, although OSU was undefeated when we played them and not undefeated later



BYU was 3+ vs OSU and U was 0.8.



We had other commin opponents and proved BYU is a better draw.

ESPN has repeatedly stated it is very pleased with the agreement with BYU, and it should be. BYU delivered average or above-average ratings for every weeknight game it has played in the past two seasons, something most conferences haven’t done.



In the case of Thursday night games, BYU’s ratings have been more than 20 percent higher than average ESPN/ESPN2 draws for that night.

Wait - You put the kids to bed. So now what - has school work become a 6th priority ahead of football.



More seriously, your kids told my kids that they sneak out of bed and peek around the corner.



Even more seriously - I will watch BYU Football any day of the week and any time of day - even delayed broadcast or just listen on KSL Radio if necessary.



I agree your approach is smarter. You get to skip the comnercials. But my doctor has warned me that in 2013 with the fast paced offense, we will need commercial breaks to catch our breath and figure out what just happened.

ESPN has already moved at least one 2013 game previously scheduled for Saturday to Friday night.

We have 3 Friday night games. None on Thursday that I know of. If we get good ratings and new viewers but being the only game on tv, I am for it. I might not be able to drive in to see the BSU game though.
