CougarbibUH announced that they will only play 12 games in 2013 rather than their allowed 13 in order to give Norm Chow a better chance for success. They went on to explain that their only two options at this late date would be to bring in an FCS team or travel to the mainland and roll over for a payday opponent.
They said neither is desireable, and even though it will crimp their budget not to do it, they need to adjust their priorities and solve their financial needs some other way.
I agree that FCS and even payday rollover games should stop. But only if everyone stops. Every team should play 6 home and 6 away with a reciprocal game always required.
Ain't gonna happen, though.
These statements were part of the announcement unveiling the new MWC schedule and OOC schedule. IIRC, they had USC or someone like that as one OOC and for UH, the MWC games are pretty good match-ups - not much easy. BSU is not in their rotation for two years, but they have to travel to Wyoming in 2013 - altitude and cold are the worries. All MWC dates are TBD. Match-ups are set, but not dates.
