Would you rather...

Here's a question I've been pondering:

Would you rather be a 12-14 seed in the NCAA tourney and lose by double digits in the 1st round, or be a low seed in the the NIT with a couple home games and a deep run, let's say to the semi-finals, at least. This isn't about what's best for the program. It's just what you would rather watch.

I'm actually starting to lean towards the NIT. I'm graduating in April, so more home games would be awesome.

NIT. While I understand the need to go to the "big dance", I think this team would benefit from the experience of the NIT rather than being beat up in the first round of the NCAA. That, and then it is more home games to go to.

NCAA has more money for the league and we have a streak of several years of dancing. I would like to keep it going.

I'd rather keep the streak going as well, 7? 8 years in a row? But ultimately this question is like those dumb questions we used to ask each other in jr. high: would you rather eat poo flavored ice cream or ice cream flavored poo?

I am not convinced that BYU will fare well playing a team of Saint Mary's caliber at home in NIT. An NCAA loss to a really good team may taste better than the ice cream and be less harmful than the poo.

While I don't relish another one and done in the NCAA...as erratic as this team is we could just as easily have some nobody team come into the MC on fire and none of our players show up to go one and done in the NIT and that would even be worse.

Big dance. We'll get smoked in the NIT as well so what's the difference? At least in the tourney a team might take us lightly. Whereas there's a good chance an NIT team will be out to prove something. Plus, I want to have some reason to care come March.
