I wasn't believing we as fans needed to apologize for calling him a liar, its all the other crap. The fact that nobody(including me at times) gave him the benefit of the doubt or we brought up 4 years agos issues that led him to ND. It was open season on Manti Teo. The deadspin article was pretty damning and in the end didn't do due dilligence researching( big suprise for the low lives at deadspin)

Seriously, this is by far the most baffling side story in college football for some time. I'm waiting for everyone to get together on Jerry Springer (who happens to be a Tulane grad). Isn't there some paternity test that needs revealing after a word from our sponsor? What do other celebrities have to say/twitter about how the scandal has influenced Manti's feelings? How can we, as viewers, contribute to a donation fund to help the Teo family cope with this scandal? When is the book coming out? How is this relevant to the latest gun control debates?

+1. I think this qualifies as the most odd, bizarre, strange, and weird college sports story I have ever heard. Perhaps the most bizarre sports story ever in either college of pro. I doubt the truth will ever really come out.



I've kicked it around in my mind though. If I owned an NFL team, had a 1st Round pick, needed an LB and Manti Teo was still avail. when my turn cam up. Would I pick Manti, or would I pass because of this story?



Obviously, if we needed an LB, and there was a chance we would be taking Manti Teo, I would have to sit down with my Gen. Mangr., the HC, and the Def. Coord. We'd have a very frank discussion about how this would affect the locker room, the team overall, and do we want Manti with this circus still swirling around. We would also meet with Manti at the Combine and have private, frank discussions.



My gut feeling - I would take Manti in the 1st Round. This controversy will pass. His on-field performance has never been affected by this bizarre story, or his private life (whatever it is). Whether Manti is gay or not, I really don't care. I'm a huge believer in doing your job and keeping your private business private.



The one point I would insist on with Manti though - no more B.S. stories, no more embellishment, no more lies. Just shut-up, play football, and keep your private life private.

If I were a G.M. and Manti was the player I wanted in the draft, this episode wouldn't effect my decission. The kid is young and dumb and put himself in an embarrising situation that he discovered was a fraud (from what I can gather) right before being on the biggest stage in college sports. He then told some lies hoping for this to blow over. If this is the worst thing you can dig up in his past I imagine he's well above the average character for what is represented in draft. The first few weeks of training camp/the season will probably be ruthless for him but if he's the player you want, that will quickly be forgotten in the big picture.
