Beat the preseason #14 by nearly 40 and had the bench in most of the 4th quarter

For the 2nd time, Mika won the dunk contest in the top tournament of the month.

Craig - can you spell out mission plans and graduation year and any likely redshirt years, if any, so we can see when each of these guys might be ready to contribute significantly like Tyler Haws is as a sophomore.

The game was on tv today. Toolson could not miss from 3. The team is full of shooters. Game was not close.

The kid should walk on. He'd get the BYU experience, He's a legacy and his dad can certainly afford the tuition until and if conner earns a scholarship.



Personally I think he's more suited to DII, but so is Brock Zylstra, who also was a walkon.

Toolson was the leading scorer against that #14 team with 22pts. That shows a lot of confidence when your teammates have so much talent and publicity. Didn't they beat Jabari Parker's team as well? Parker's team was #1 in this preseason poll. There were 2 rankings and Lonepeak was #2 in one of them and 3 or so in the other. I don't think we'll miss Parker so much with these guys coming. It would be very interesting to see what they could do against college teams.

Toolson was the MVP yesterday. Good for that kid. He is undersized, but then again, so is TJ Haws. But of the opponent focuses on the big three of emery, M,a, and Haws, Toolson as a fourth did quite well.

Yes we will miss Parker much. He would have been here Fall 2013 and played immediately with the intent of going Pro after 1or 2 years. He probably would have been gone before most of these other guys are here and ready for serious PT. Mission pressure might be part of why he did not come to BYU.

I think the 2 major reasons Jabari did not come to BYU was (1) he will learn more and be better prepared for the NBA playing for Duke. Duke has sent a lot of successful players into the NBA. That would be my most important decision point if I had that much talent. (2) At BYU, too much pressure to perform at an all american level. At Duke, he will be just a good freshman. Too much pressure could detract from his focus. I would not want that pressure if I were 18 years old.

Papa makea noasensea. You really think the pressure To perform will be less at Duke????? Are you kidding us???? He supposedly is one and done. He has far more pressure to pull that off at Duke and in the ACC than at BYU (who has no legit players at the 4) AND IN THE WCC.

He has actually put himself more at risk in the ACC than he would have in the WCC. And with that risk maybe a higher reward quotient. He has an amazing and complete game, but he is not elite athletically. He will struggle against more physical and athletic ACC teams. My prediction is that he is not a one and done at Duke. He won't shine as brightly by the end of next year as he does now. My prediction is that he comes out of Duke after year two. But who knows maybe he will pull a Tim Duncan and stay four.
