Bold Prediction--Utah goes 3-9 in 2013

I'm sorry for any closet Ute fans or trolls, but I just saw this schedule:

08/29/13 Utah State Aggies

09/07/13 Weber State Wildcats

09/14/13 Oregon State Beavers

09/21/13 at BYU Cougars

10/03/13 UCLA Bruins

10/12/13 Stanford Cardinal

10/19/13 at Arizona Wildcats

10/26/13 at USC Trojans

11/09/13 Arizona State Sun Devils

11/16/13 at Oregon Ducks

11/23/13 at Washington State Cougars

11/30/13 Colorado Buffaloes

Given the fact that they still don't have a plausible answer at quarterback, their offensive coordinator may be even less adept than Brandon Doman, and they are losing the only pieces on defense worth a damn, I don't see the Utes pulling off more than three wins given their recent track record.



USU, BYU, CU, and Wazzou = tossups given recent history, but BYU, Wazzou, and CU stand to improve markedly in 2013. Weber St = closest thing to a gimme. In every one of the remaining 7 games, the Yewts are distinct underdogs.



In the span of three years, Kwhitt will have gone from being one of the hottest coaches in the game to being on one of the hottest seats in the country.

Less Bold: They're not going bowling next year.

BYU improves markedly? I hope so.

Seriously though. How did Utah manage to avoid playing Oregon and Stanford so long? Amazing.

It was part of the PAC's "we know you're still a little brother and will continue to suck, but we don't want everyone to know right away" package when bringing them into the conference.

5-7 is my guess.



Usu, weber, Wazzu, Colorado and one other. Not BYU. Between BJ and the Giraffe they will struggle.

Anae probably doesn't even have a playbook yet. He's probably got a concept and base packages, but he shouldn't be developing a playbook until he has a staff to collaborate with. {/danglingparticiple]

I also predicted Utah to get three wins this year, even assuming they pull off a couple of upsets, they still only win 5 games--maybe; and no bowling for them again. Love it.

Let's not forget that they are returning pretty much all of their #105 ranked offense and offensive staff.

In fairness, we are all excited about our Soph QB with his two starts - so let them be excited about theirs. Running back. They should be fine. Offensive coaching staff - theirs is nothing to write home about, but they have one. They and we will struggle on offense next season. We both have killer schedules. Defense and special teams will be the differentiator. And schedule - even moreso.



Hopefully BYU will contribute to U misery in 2013.

Just a ploy to trick the Utes into locking him up for even longer. The suck will continue!

Looking at that schedule, I'm going out on a limb and saying they will win one game in each of September (Weber St), October (maybe UCLA), and November (Colorado). The others that they might win are Colorado and Washington State. I see a 5 win season tops for the U.
