So, who is the QB coach?

With Doman not coming back and hiring Roderick as the WR coach, who is the QB coach?



Anae--OC/TE

Roderick--WR

Two-Jay (went with pronunciation)--OL

Atuaia--RB

???-QB



Are they just going to let Mad Max handle it as a GA?

Still could be Roddick as QB coach and Cahoon with WRs

Last hire, but I expect Paul Peterson. Heard he was at round 3 of interviews, which meant sitting down with a GA.



With Doman gone, unofficially but announced, I think he will wrap up the remainder of hte staff. And be a really solid hire.



BYU would now have Anae, ARod and Peterson with OC game planning and play calling experience, along with Tujague with HC experience, all on the offense. THat would be an experienced staff. BYU needs it.

A pendulum swing of sorts after the youth movement in 2010. Avg age probably does not change much with Reynolds and Weber having old age kind of years but fewer kids like Doman, Cahoon, and Dupaix. Well - I guess we have one kid - Atuaia - but Vai will give him pointers.



Not to sound racist - but what ethnicity swaps are involved with these changes? Poly is covered. African American?

I do think that could pose a problem long term. But we didn't have one this past year either. In fact, not since Jaime Hill, right?

I wonder what Harmon knows... Is he writing this because he thinks that the football administration is turned off by Detmer's luke warm reception to their inquiries? Does he think BYU hiring someone else is imminent? Or maybe he's just innocently putting it out there.



Whether you like/trust/agree with Harmon, he's connected enough that he has to suspect something was up as he drafted this article.

On second thought, notwithstanding that Harmon is pretty connected, this article makes complete sense and he is just saying the Admin needs to do everything they can to get Detmer so they have done full "due diligence" to turn this Offense around.

He perfectly states why Detmer wouldn't come and I agree.

And maybe Harmon knows that if nothing else, he gets a lot of hits using Detmers name while the qb coach intrigue is active.

After reading some more, I am thinking it is Peterson. Apparently he has had three interviews, including with GAs--can't remember where I read it, but it sounds like it is Peterson.

I really wish that ARod had been selected instead of Anae. ARod wasn't demoted for performance at Utah, but because they could get Chow. ARod was actually a pretty good play caller.

So if he was so good, why did BJ get the job over him after chow left? Don't get me wrong, I am really excited about the new staff's experience including him, but he must not have been doing that great of a job to get passed over for the OC position by a 25 year old.
