Spiff, I believe that is true. My understanding is Notre= noted, Dame= dame or lady. I'm sure it's in reference to Mary. Do you know French?

Notre means ours. Dame is lady. It refers to Mary the mother of Jesus.

I presume you served a mission there. What languages is it related to? Does it have any relationship to Greek. Are there not a lot of Greek Orthodox churches there? Also isn't that where Creshimere Cosic (sp) was from?

He was from Croaia. Zagreb if I am not mistaken. I was there a couple of days on vacation.

He grew up in Zadar - down on the coast.



The Serbian side of the language uses the Cyrillic alphabet and they are Orthodox, but not much in terms of more language connection to Greek.
