Tom Holmoe to make special basketball announcement on True Blue. I wish he was announcing something special on FB rather than BB because whatever it is, I doubt that it will affect this season.



No idea what it is, but it will get me to watch the show. I'm kind of a 50-50 guy as a lot of times I simply forget to turn it on. Most of the comments on the show are pretty sterile and lacking in any meat, so I'm not expecting much.

I can only speculate what this grand announcement could be.

I'm 55 years old and I've never heard anyone ever mention Mel Hutchins and Roland Minson when they have spoken of past BYU greats and now BYU is going to retire their jerseys?



No disrespect intended as they were both first round choices, but over sixty years later we're going to retire their jerseys? This never occured to anyone in the past? We're supposed to understand that Tom Holmoe is now correcting a past injustice or slight?



I don't know, something just doesn't send me into cheers or bouts of excitement. Their stats and accolades are sound, but I just don't remember the last time a team I followed retired two jerseys of players that have not been mentioned much over the 37 years I've been a BYU fan.

They keep retiring all these jerseys there won't be any numbers left for the current players.
