Men Volleyball 2013

Team is ranked #2. Patch is our new star freshman. Beat Hawaii tonight 3-0. Play then again tomorrow night. This team has a chance to bring back a championship to Provo.

After beating #1 UCI, we are now ranked #1. So far one loss on the season. The freshman 6' 8" Patch has had some awesome kills but his hitting average is below average. He is learning though and if he can improve we will be really good.

Won in 5 sets last night against UCSB for 7-2 record.

Saturday night's game was worth watching - glad I have BYUtv on DirecTV (although I still wish they would carry it in HD). 5 set win against Stanford - high-quality play, nail-biter to the end (15-13 game 5 score). If you haven't followed the Volleyball team, now is the time to get on the bandwagon!

Freshman Patch is player of the week. This is a good sign for the team.

On the road to #1 UCI vs #2 BYU tonight. We were down 0-2, then took it to set 5 and pulled out the win. Wish it was on KBYUTV. We should move to #1 and the top of the league standings. Patch is getting better.

Patch had 35 kills. That is a ton. Sanders was invisible not even mentioned in the article.

We are back to #1 and freshman Patch was Player of the Week for the second time in a row. First time ever for that.

I am a crazy fan of volleyball. I have a height of 6'2 and thus i can be a good sport in it. Congratulations about the ranking and good luck for your future. I wish i could be in that team too, but i guess i'll just have to be going with my surfboard now. But until next time then :)

Now 11 wins in a row I think. We have clinched 1st place, home court in the league playoff and probably a place in the final four.

I was going to get on the computer Saturday night to watch the match, but due to some difficulties, I wasn't able to get to the computer until a little over an hour after it started and it was over with. Bummer.

They destroyed USC in 3 sets.

Beat #7 UCSB in 5 sets to clinch first place. Now 12 wins in a row. UCLA tomorrow. Playoffs just around the corner. All games at home. Good chance for a national championship here.

Patch is leaving to serve a mission after the season. I love to see the kids serve but when I read that I said Noooooooooooooo. Sanders last year is next year. That would be a very good chance to win a championship. Oh well.

Won the first match of the playoffs 3-2 against 8 seed Hawaii. Very very close match but we came from behind to win. This should helps us play better in the next one on Thursday against UCLA.

A win Thursday would be a huge step toward a NC. Win or lose I think we're in the final four, but a win knocks UCLA out of the picture. Potentially playing them for the NC on their home court would be pretty tough.

UCLA is hot, they could win the NC.

Crazy match on tv. Tied 2-2 with UCLA. We were down 0-2.

We won in 5. Incredible rally. We were down 2-1 and 7-1 in set 4. Coach pulled the setter and we tied it 8-8 then won 26-24. Finals on Saturday night.

That game kept me up until midnight, despite the fact that I had to be up to teach early-morning seminary. Incredible come-from-behind win for the cougars. NC - here we come!

While the other team is getting ready to serve, I see people behind the server doing the gator chomp. What does that mean?
