How Badly Does BSU Whoop Nevada? I'll Tell You How Bad...

Really bad.

50 bucks says BSU returns the opening kickoff for a TD, and never looks back from there.

Nevada has no defense... they are completely doomed.

BSU walks away with a 3+ touchdown victory.

You heard it here first. Won't be able to say I didn't tell ya so.

Nevada may actually be the better team at this point in the season, but the Wac refs won't let BSU lose at home and spoil their chance to get an at large bid to the BCS.

I think Nevada does have a chance against BSU this coming weekend. As the boards biggest BSU fan, I would have to say I am a little worried about this one.......

But then I woke up and realized its Nevada. They are a good team this year but are habitual chokers. They will get stomped in Boise.

I do think the way Nevada is playing right now they would be third in the MWC/WAC pecking order....

Nevada and BSU better than both BYU and Utah?? That is ABSURD!! Nevada got canned v Notre Dame and beat at CSU. Sorry, but they only got healthy when they played crappy WAC teams, so I am no Nevada believer. And as to BSU, they lose at RES and LES, but win at home v both teams. Which makes them all about equal, to be fair.

BSU is good, but not great because their D is not great. Just like BYU's. But they will be good enough to beat Nevada, who feasts on weaklings, and loses v. decent teams. The WAC is full of weak sisters this year. Especially bad on defense. The MWc has some bad teams, but even the bad teams play ok defense. Not so in the WAC.

BSU wins easy. 45-24. Nevada is a fraud.

Really? If all these teams were in the same conference it would be TCU, BYU, yewtah, BSU, Nevada, Fresno. BSU may be good, but they have never, ever had to play a few (or even a couple) good teams in a row. It's not hard to beat a good team one week. It's hard to do it a few weeks in a row, something BSU has never done.

I can't wait until the donkeys come back to LES. They think they can handle the Cougs after beating us a couple times during the worst 2 years of Cougar football in 3 decades. The Cougar beatdown of the donkeys is going to be very satisfying.

As a big BYU fan, what has BYU done this season that would make me think they could beat Boise? or Nevada?

I think both BYU and Utah are living off of last years Sugar Bowl. Doesnt mean I like the cougars any less, I just think (in my sometimes off base opinion:)) that Nevada could beat BYU and Utah the way they are playing right now.

BSU would win handily in Provo and RES this year. They do have a good defense, and are much faster than us. Moore would pick apart our secondary like we have never seen....

Nevada had their chance and ducked us... Nevada has beaten only 2 teams with winning records all season and both games were at home:

To answer your question:

BYU beat CSU soundly (and beat every MWC team thus far that has beaten CSU besides TCU), who beat Nevada.

Nevada is a lot like Air Force, insuch, any team that can outsize them and run the ball effectively then owns them if they can throw the ball even a little. We've proven that we can do more than throw the ball a little' and that we can dominate undersized teams with so-so defenses.

BYU would be favored by 17+ at home over Nevada and by 10+ at Nevada.

Boise is going to beat Nevada and rightly so. At this point, Boise cannot pass TCU so we might as well hope BSU wins out too, so that the BCS looks like more of a sham than it already is.

This Boise football team is good and great at home. I wouldn't want to play them on the smurf turf this season (now in a couple seasons when Broncos recruits are all here and Heaps has the reigns, the Donkeys are in trouble)

Let's reverse that question: What have Boise State or Nevada done this season that would make me think they would beat Utah? BYU?

With Boise, all you can really point out is their win over Oregon... whippee, opening game of the season at home... I highly HIGHLY doubt that - with the way both teams are playing now - Oregon wouldn't kick BSU's trash in a rematch.

And next to that, who is their biggest win? Fresno? Tulsa? Give me a break.

What about Nevada? They lost to CSU, a team that lost to NM. Who is Nevada's biggest win? Nevada is good, but if they can't beat CSU, what on earth makes you think they'd be 2nd in the MWC? :skeptic:

I don't see Nevada coming within two scores of BSU in this one. And with TCU as a virtual lock for a BCS game, I don't mind the Drunk Donkeys going undefeated and creating a mess for the BCS bowls. Go Donkey State!

Nevada is not a Top 3 MWC team.

Fresno State is not a Top 4 MWC team.

Nevada-Air Force would be an interesting bowl game and a close toss-up though. I think the Falcons would take them.

Fresno State would probably have the edge over Wyoming.

I'll give BSU the benefit of the doubt and say that they along with BYU, and utah would be competing for the #2 spot this year in the MWC. The rest of that ranking could happen I guess, but it definitely proves what we all know, you have a huge crush on the WAC.

Nevada has already lost to CSU THIS YEAR, they aren't going to be in the running for the #3 spot. Sorry. They'd be lucky to go bowling with their preseason losses and a MWC schedule.

Fresno would have 3-5 MWC losses alone from TCU, BYU, utah, Air Force, and possibly Wyoming or a pumped SDSU squad.

BSU wins this one by 14. BSU does not lose at home very often and the fact that UNR has rolled against teams like NMSU and Idaho does not say a whole lot. As to the bigger question, I would not want to play BSU at Boise this year. They have an outstanding, balanced offense that we'de have challenges dealing with. We'de move the ball though and so it would be a fun one to watch

Absolutely NOT! They got owned by the last placed MWC team! Nevada would be a 5th place (at best) MWC team. A MWC/WAC ranking list would look something like this:

1) TCU (and it's not even close)

2a)BSU 2b)Utah 2c) BYU

5) AFA

6) Nevada

7-??) Who cares, they all suck.

BSU's defense is underrated. Having said that, this year in the MWC, the standings would be:

TCU

BSU

BYU/Utah

Utah/BYU

AFA

WYO

NEV (they lost to CSU and were SHUT OUT by ND for goodness sakes)

Fresno St/SDSU

SDSU/Fresno State

UNLV

CSU (played well early in the season)/UNM

UNM/CSU (and that's giving Fresno the conisideration that they also don't lose to CSU)

Please, please, PLEASE don't come in here with the weak stuff about NEV being 3rd in the MWC. ND wouldn't even be 6-5 playing in the MWC with a normal MWC OOC. They would have a minimum 3 losses in conference (and assuming they would have played BYU's schedule), would have had 2 more losses right there. A toss-up game with AFA and if they had to play at Laramie, there are two other possible losses right there. And Nev lost to them 35-0.
