MWC has down season against the WAC

but the MWC is still the better conference of the two.



The MWC went 6-4 against the WAC this season.



Key games were that the MWC's worst team, CSU, beat the WAC's best team, Nevada (based on a 7-0 WAC conference record as of today) and the 2 and 3 teams in the MWC were 3-0 against the WAC. TCU and BSU played no games against the WAC or MWC, respectively.



The bottom 5 teams of the MWC were 3-4 against the WAC with the aforesaid win by CSU over Nevada. Idaho had 2 wins against the MWC, a very close win over CSU and another against SDSU.



Although the WAC had a respectable showing against the MWC this season, the loss by Nevada to CSU still shows that the MWC is the better conference of the two. More importantly, the better indicator is that the MWC has 3 teams in the top 25 for the second year in a row, something the WAC has not done since the MWC was formed, and TCU is ranked ahead of BSU.

All this shows me is that the MWC and WAC are both terrible conferences with a couple of great teams at the top.



The bottom feeding garbage in both of these conferences is what puts the glass ceiling on the conference champion and relegates our winners (in most seasons) to high class bowls like the Humanitarian, Las Vegas, Armed Forces, New Mexico, and on and on.....



The garbage at the bottom of each conference needs to be combined and thrown out until they can prove they actually want to field D1 teams...

Couple??? maybe in the MWC. I'm not buying it in the WAC.

Seriously. Show me another D1 conference that doesn't have a few perennial cellar dwellers and mostly fair-to-middling teams that have mediocre out-of-conference records.

The PAC10 was crap last year, and is probably the best league this year because of overall depth. Some perennially bad teams are winning this year. Depth is what defines a great league, but having 3 or more great teams at the top is what highlights a league. The MWC has earned its spot.



By the way, BYU needs to step up now. Sad that both Utah (2x) and TCU get to BCS bowls first. We need to earn out street cred and get their in the next 4 years.

The "couple" of great teams I was referring too were BSU and TCU.



Nobody else from the MWC or WAC are great. BYU, Utah, Nevada, Fresno, Air Force, etc are good but not great this year.



Last year there were three...Utah, TCU, BSU...

Totally agree with you Mars....there is serious garbage in every conference, but the non-BCS conferences have the smelliest garbage at the bottom compared to the BCS leagues.



My point was that it does get a little tiring having every team in conference suck, other than two or three games a year. SDSU, Wyoming, CSU, NM, UNLV....that is a giant turd-comprised anchor holding whole conference back.....

That's 2/18.



Nationally, the other "greats" are Texas, Cincy, and the Florida-Alabama winner. So 2/18 is still a better percentage than 5/120. No to mention that the MWC's 1/9 beats the PAC-10, Big Ten, and ACC's 0/43, as well as the Big XII's 1/12 and the SEC's 1/12.

Yeah, unlike Washington State. They're awesome! And Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, Vanderbilt...

How can you leave out great teams like Arizona St. and Washington? Seriously though, anyone who groups BYU with Nevada and Fresno St. has not watched any college football this year. NONE!
